The Hida area boasts many alluring day trip destinations, including the World Heritage Site Shirakawa-go, a mere 50-minute drive from Takayama, as well as beautiful mountain tours to Kamikochi and Mt. Norikura, trekking, skiing, traditional onsens, etc. Maple Haus offers discounts for consecutive nights starting from the second night to allow you to explore longer and enjoy the Hida region to its fullest. The space Maple Haus is situated on a peaceful street and all of its rooms face south, providing ample natural light. The living room adjoins a sunny outdoor terrace that is barrier-free. During the winter months, you can take advantage of the floor heating in the living room, kitchen, pantry, and dressing room located on the first floor. In the summer, you can open the windows on all sides to let in the fresh Alpine air. Additionally, the living room, bedrooms, and den have air conditioning for use during both the coldest and hottest months. Most traditional townhouses share walls with their neighbors which can lead to noise and disturbances. However, Maple Haus is a stand-alone house, which is quite rare in the old town. So, you can relax quietly without any privacy concerns. There are three bedrooms in the house: - A Japanese-style room on the second floor that accommodates four people on futon mats. Please note that four futons will be placed closer together. - A Western-style room on the same floor that has two single beds. -A small "Bed & Office" on the first floor has a single bed that accommodates one person. During winter, we place a large heated carpet under the futons in the Japanese-style room and provide electric blankets on the beds, ensuring a warm and comfortable sleep. The Western-style rooms have blackout curtains, and the Japanese-style room has blinds, ensuring peaceful sleep until morning. From the second-floor bedrooms, you can enjoy a view of Shiroyama, the former site of Takayama Castle during the Edo period. There are a total of three toilets (with heated seating and a bidet), two on the first floor and one on the second floor. There is no dryer for the washer. You can dry your clothes using the heating and ventilation function in the bathroom. Laundry detergent is provided. Important Notice: Stays in Takayama City are subject to a lodging tax.
