Other things to note The apartment is located in Vatopedi, a small village of about 200 inhabitants built on a hill on the eastern bank of the river Chavria, in a place with olive groves and vines. Closest beach is only a 5 minute drive. It is worth noting that it is surrounded by monasteries which are extremely close. Outside Vatopedi there is a female monastery, dedicated to the Annunciation of the Theotokos, which is the largest in Greece with workshops of weaving and iconography. Its dependency dates back to the 12th century (10 minutes on foot). To the south of the village on a hill there is the male monastery of Agios Arsenios of Cappadokos, founded in 1986 (5 minutes by car). Just 50 minutes away by car from Thessaloniki and Mount Athos, it is a smart choice because of the location of the village, since it is offered to the visitor tranquility and authenticity due to the minimum tourism and the small population of the local residents while at the same time direct access to the main road N.
