The city has a rich history and many cultural attractions, such as the Angelner steam railway, the museum harbor or the historic old town with pretty half-timbered houses, great shopping and restaurants. In summer, there are many regional events in and around Kappeln, such as the Heringstage and the Hafenmarkt.
