A beautifully refurbished holiday home situated in the heart of a quaint Suffolk village, Victoria Cottage caters for up to 4 guests in exquisite luxury. The accommodation is finished to the highest standard while maintaining a deep sense of character. The property contains a sitting room, an open plan island kitchen/dining room, two kingsize double bedrooms both with their own en-suite and a ground floor cloakroom. Outside is a private garden and parking is available on the street. The space Victoria Cottage is a beautiful character cottage which has been fully refurbished to the highest of standards with astonishing attention to detail. The property provides guests with luxurious accommodations with contemporary flourishes while preserving characterful features throughout to insure a memorable stay. The cottage caters for up to four guests and is situated in a delightful village which offers convenient access to neighbouring villages including historic Lavenham and the nearby cathedral town of Bury St Edmunds. On the ground floor, you enter into a stylish tiled entrance hall through which a glass door opens into the kitchen/dining room. This area benefits from underfloor heating below a rustic flagstone floor with a dining table and chairs which comfortably seats up to six guests. The dining area lies adjacent to the island kitchen which has been finished with quartz work surfaces and a range of integrated appliances including a fridge, freezer, electric combination oven, microwave, dishwasher, induction hob and a washing machine. There is also a kettle, toaster and a coffee machine as well as well-stocked kitchen cupboards with ample cookware. A large atrium style skylight baths the kitchen in natural light while bi-folding doors open back to bring the outside in. There is also a well appointed cloakroom as you enter the property. The sitting room contains oak parquet flooring and plush sofa and chairs as well as a wall mounted smart TV. An exposed brick chimney breast with a wood burning stove allows guests to enjoy a cosy evening watching a film with a fire roaring. Upstairs, two kingsize double bedrooms are each served with their own en-suits (one with a bath with a shower over and one with a walk-in shower) and they have been beautifully finished with quality fittings and rainfall style shower heads. Outside the rear garden is private and enclosed with a coal fired barbecue, table and chairs as well as a covered seating area with a rattan chair and sofa set. Parking can be found along the street in front of the property. Monks Eleigh itself is a delightful village with a beautiful range of architecture having once been a medieval Wool village as so many villages in this area are, including historic Lavenham which lies approximately a five minute drive away. Monks Eleigh contains a public house (The Swan) and a village store, which are both just a minute walk away, as well as well as plenty of footpaths for beautiful walks in the surrounding countryside. The neighbouring village of Chelsworth also contains one or the areas most highly regarded gastro pubs (the Peacock Inn). Lavenham contains a wide variety of facilities including a number of pubs, restaurants, cafes and tearooms, independent retailers, a local butcher and a hotel and spa (it is recommended to book in advance). The Grade 1 listed guildhall is worth a visit as are Melford Hall and Ickworth Park, all controlled by The National Trust. The Cathedral town of Bury St Edmunds lies around 16 miles away with a medieval quarter, many fine restaurants and plenty of attractions including the Abbey Gardens. The ancient market town of Hadleigh is also nearby and contains many amenities including supermarkets, a measure centre and a petrol station. Victoria Cottage is the ideal getaway for guests looking for a luxurious stay in a beautiful Suffolk village from which to enjoy the surrounding countryside and the best the region has to offer.
