The space Our vacation home is located in the Upper Rodach Valley in the middle of the Franconian Forest - one of the most beautiful low mountain regions in Germany and awarded the quality seal "Wanderbares Deutschland". With its extensive hiking trails and the excellent "32 FrankenwaldSteigla", the Franconian Forest is the ideal starting point for hikes of various requirements. Get into one of the best hiking areas in Germany. Some of the most famous hiking trails start right in the immediate vicinity, such as the Rennsteig or the 12 Apostles Trail (Wanderbares Deutschland Award). If you like it faster, the Franconian Forest offers 8000 meters of altitude and 300 kilometers of challenging routes for mountain biking. A temptation for those who want to challenge their fitness and technique. Our vacation home is located on the outskirts of Wallenfels in a very quiet residential area, and offers a good starting point for hikes and bike tours. Public swimming pool, public transport are within easy reach of the house. And all around our wonderful nature. In the neighboring village of Steinwiesen, there is the possibility to rent e-bikes, bicycles or various hiking equipment. The Ködeltalsperre with magnificent fjords and an 11 km long circular path (car-free) is only 3 km away. This invites you to take bike tours or long walks. The district town of Kronach with its Rosenberg fortress and the magnificent old town is also worth a trip. The spa town of Bad Steben with its beautiful spa and casino is only about 18 km away. Wallenfels is known for its 800-year tradition of rafting. From May to September, raft rides take place on the Wilden Rodach, a wet and cheerful event, almost right outside the front door of the vacation home.
