The space Finca del Sol is a small family run Eco-lodge on the flanks of Volcano Madaras within walking distance to the beach, restaurants and hiking trails. Over 2/3 of the 11.5 acre property is made up of tropical dry forest where you will have the opportunity to see some amazing critters including howler monkeys, rabbits, frogs and many species of birds and butterflies. We have 3 individually decorated private guest bungalows and 1 loft room. They are all comfortable,clean and boast amazing sunset views of Volcano Conception. This private bungalow is a beautiful hexagon with a hand woven thatch roof and cob style walls to keep you nice and cool year round. It measures about 350 square feet, including the porch and has a amazing view of volcano Conception.. It is not uncommon to see and hear monkeys on this stretch of land daily. The cabin is located on the hillside with cool breezes and a large private garden space. This cabin has a double bed with an orthopedic mattresses, mosquito netting, drinking water, private bathroom, hot water shower, and shampoo. It really has everything you need to be comfortable in the jungle, including 2 hammocks with amazing views where you can lounge around and read a book. The housekeeper will come in daily housekeeping to ensure you are looked after, and if you have any questions there is always someone on site to help out. Our cleaning fee includes: bathroom cleaned daily and bed made. Full cleaning on departure. If you need new sheets or towels just ask and we are happy to help out if possible. Are you planning a group trip? We have another 2 cabins + a room available for groups up to 12 people. Guest access You'll have access to all of the lush tropical dry forest and organic farmland, where you can admire the tropical dry forest critters - birds, butterflies and resident monkeys! There is common area where you may meet other guests and set up plans to take a tour together or walk around the property and enjoy the many flowers and park setting. Our place is very relaxing and perfect for anyone looking to get away from it all! Lots of space to meditate, do yoga, enjoy the nature and connect with the zen feeling. There is a Wifi connection up in the reception area where you can connect if you need, or enjoy a breakfast alfresco! Other things to note THE KEY: The key is available on site 12 -4pm. Late check in's must email to arrange where to find the key. While we do live on the property we go in and out throughout the day, so your kindness in communicating your arrival time is greatly appreciated. OUR LOVELY DOGS: We have a couple of friendly dogs on site, so you will feel like you are at home:-) INSECTS: The entire property is a lush tropical forest, abundant with plant and animal life. Guests may often encounter small, shy jungle animals around the property, including birds, butterflies, bees, monkeys, frogs, toads, spiders, and small bats. Sometimes these creatures like to take shelter inside too...NONE of these species are aggressive, toxic to humans, or otherwise dangerous. There is only one venomous animal on the whole island, the coral snake, which is timid and rarely ever seen. These creatures are found all over the island and make Ometepe a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve that is full of natural beauty and diversity.
