Welcome to Fil des Causses - 4-star "Le Lot" cottage for 7 people. 19th century house (1834) on 2 levels, fully renovated and air-conditioned, located in a green park of 1 hectare, with 2 heated swimming pools, a jacuzzi and outdoor games. The space This "Le lot" vacation rental built on 2 floors includes: * On the ground floor, a 70 m2 living room comprising: - a living room with 2 3-seater sofas, 2 single beds of 80 x 200 cm combined into 1 single bed of 160 x 200 cm in an alcove, - 1 dining room - 1 open kitchen - 1 toilet. Tea towels and basic household products are provided at no extra cost as well as some basic condiments (salt, pepper, oil, vinegar); * Upstairs, 3 bedrooms (2 master bedrooms each comprising 2 beds of 90 x 200 cm that can be combined into 1 large bed of 180 x 200 cm according to your convenience and their own bathroom (sink, shower and toilet) + 1 bedroom in a row comprising 1 bed of 90 x 200 cm). Bed linen (mattress protector, fitted sheet, flat sheet, duvet cover, winter duvet, 2 pillows per person and their pillowcase) and towels (one large towel, one small towel and one glove per person) are provided at no extra cost. Heating: * On the ground floor, it is provided by a wood burning stove and a reversible summer/winter air conditioner; * In the bedrooms, it is provided by electric wall heaters and reversible summer/winter air conditioners. You will also enjoy a private outdoor area including a terrace with garden furniture and 2 barbecues (gas and wood). The outdoor space to share with the other gîte "Le Célé" includes: * Free parking. * The park of about 1 hectare with: - 2 heated swimming pools (oval pool 4.00 m x 3.50 m x 1.40 m deep and Bogota pool 9.35 m x 5.20 m x 1.45 m deep), - A Jacuzzi for 7/8 people - and outdoor games (football, volleyball, badminton, bowling games, etc.) * The barn converted into a reception room and games room in which you will find a ping pong table (paddles and balls provided free of charge), foosball, billiards and darts. Maintenance of the garden and swimming pools is provided free of charge by the owner. Your stay must be at least 2 nights outside of summer and Christmas school holidays and 7 nights during summer and Christmas school holidays. Sorry, but for safety and hygiene reasons we do not accept pets. Optionally, we offer a "full fridge" on arrival according to a list established together. Other things to note From Orniac, you will have access to several interesting sites in the Lot. A few kilometers away, the Eco Museum of Cuzals will allow you to discover the agricultural heritage of Quercy. You can discover farms from the Middle Ages to the 1920s. Entertainment is organized throughout the summer and you can picnic on site or simply walk there. 5 minutes by car, the village of Cabrerets with its restaurants and food store. 2 km from this village, you will find the cave of Pech Merle, famous for its cave paintings. Please note that you must book in advance, as the number of visitors is limited. About 15 minutes away, you will find the village of St Cirq Lapopie, elected in 2012 the most beautiful village in France. You can stroll through small old streets and enjoy restaurants and regional shops. From the church, the view of the valley and the Lot is superb In Bouzies, also 15 minutes from Orniac, you can see the Château des Anglais, built in the cliff in front of the village. You can take a boat trip or rent a boat yourself. The proximity of the two rivers, the Lot and the Célé, offers many opportunities for kayaking. You can book them in Conduché, 10 minutes from Orniac, and try several other activities: climbing, caving and diving. For those who prefer to stroll through the markets, you will enjoy the Cahors market, twice a week – Wednesday and Saturday – (35 minutes from Orniac). You will also find all shops, bars and restaurants. The city of Cahors is famous for its Pont Valentré. This fortified bridge dates from the 14th century and was to protect the city from the English. It is composed of three towers and is the oldest in Europe. The beautiful town of Figeac is half an hour east of Orniac, known for its fantastic Saturday morning market and many restaurants and shops. You can go to the Champollion Museum, named after Jean-François Champollion, a Figeacois who participated in deciphering the Rosetta Stone. The town of Rocamadour, built on the cliffs at the top of the Alzou River, is also half an hour from Orniac. The pilgrims of the Middle Ages visited it to worship the Black Virgin.
