Boutique Hotel Jongwijs Westzaan
Description
With the Goedjaarshuis, you have your own typical Zaan cottage to yourself. Your stay is part of our boutique hotel that we opened in 2022 in the fully renovated 17th century national monument in Westzaan. A beautiful spot in the Zaan region, where we are also happy to welcome you to our restaurant and garden. This space is no longer available at your desired time? Then take a look at the other two stays through my profile. Price includes tourist tax (€7.26 p.p. per night) The space Nel (66) and Jonas (6) furnished this spacious and very cozy accommodation. Westzaan ladies felted the iconic tapestry that gives the living room its coziness. From the bedroom upstairs, you can look out over the meadows; from the living room, you can walk into the picnic garden in no time. This accommodation has its own entrance at the front of the property. Through the front garden/terrace, you step inside where you enter the living room on the right. If you go straight ahead, you will walk up a steep (!) seventeenth-century staircase to the bedroom. There is a stylish double bed waiting for you, as well as a round table where you can drink your first coffee or tea of the day. Feel at home by plopping down on the colorful sofa. Or by preparing a lunch that you can enjoy at the dining table or in the picnic garden where you can walk in. You can freshen up in your own contemporary bathroom. Please note: Bathroom is located on the ground floor (not in the bedroom). Feel at home by drinking a cup of coffee or tea or make a lunch in the kitchenette. The kitchenette is equipped with a number of basic amenities such as: percolator, kettle, plates, glasses and cutlery. There are no facilities for cooking or heating food. During the day, many of our guests explore the famous, historic Zaan region, go energetic SUP (rental 100 meters away), go to Amsterdam or laze around in the garden. Our restaurant and our chef Syl are known in our region for celebrating local ingredients: for example, the meat we serve comes mainly from the organically raised cows that can be seen from our garden, but we also have an extensive vegan menu. It is smart to reserve a table in advance. Surf online to Jongwijs Westzaan and find our website where you can make reservations. Our garden has sweeping views of the meadows, and hostess Nel is happy to show the guests of our boutique hotel around. Guest access Of course, you have access to your own accommodation. In addition, you are welcome in the adjacent restaurant for a cup of coffee or a delicious lunch or dinner. The terrace in front, and the picnic garden behind, are freely accessible and are wonderful places to chill in the sun or to enjoy the view. Other things to note You will stay in a centuries-old national monument. Despite the fact that the building has been modernized from top to toe (while preserving the authentic elements and atmosphere), you may hear sounds from the restaurant. Please note: some steps and stairs are typical of the seventeenth century, i.e. steep. The living area and the bathroom are on the ground floor. The sleeping area is located on the first floor, which you reach by climbing a steep staircase. If you have difficulty walking, that can be a challenge. Accessibility & transportation: Our Boutique Hotel & Restaurant is located in the middle of the typical Dutch countryside, just 5 kilometers north of Amsterdam. Since there are no bus stops in front of our door, the best ways to get to Amsterdam from our location (and vice versa) are as follows: Amsterdam City Center/Central Station: 17 km from our location 25 minutes by car/Uber/taxi (depending on traffic) 15 minutes by bike to the nearest station (Zaandam) + 12 minutes by train 55 minutes cycling + free ferry Amsterdam Noord (creative hotspot): 13 km from our location 23 minutes by car/Uber/taxi 42 minutes by bike Amsterdam Schiphol Airport 25 km from our location 22 minutes by car/Uber/taxi (depending on traffic) 15 minutes cycling to the nearest station (Zaandam) + 17 minutes by train Once you arrive, you are welcome to transport yourself in "The Dutch Way," on one of our guest bikes (€12.50 per day).
