Unique mountain cabin on your own island!

Experience the mountain in this unique and peaceful family cabin. The cabin is beautifully situated on a private island in Otrøvatnet on Filefjell. It was built in the late 1950s and has a traditional style, but has running water and electricity. The cabin has a practical room arrangement with a large living room with fireplace and dining area, kitchen, hallway, four bedrooms, bathroom with shower and bathtub and separate toilet. Outbuilding with sauna. There is also a charcoal grill, fire pan, rowboat, fishing equipment, games and some children's toys. It is about ten minutes to walk on the trail from the parking lot. The space Charming cottage with a distinctive character, beautifully located on Filefjell. Perfect for experiencing the mountains, with both lake and hiking opportunities right outside the door. The cabin is from the late 50s and has a good, but relatively simple standard. There is running water and electricity. Living room with dining area, fireplace and reading corner. Kitchen with fridge with freezer, dishwasher, stove, coffee maker and kettle. Plenty of kitchen utensils. Bathroom with small bathtub, shower and sink. The washing machine in the bathroom is not working. Separate toilet. There are four bedrooms with a total of eleven beds. Room 1: double bed (140 cm), wardrobe and sink Room 2: double bed (120 cm), upper bunk, single bed, wardrobe and sink Room 3: double bed (120 cm), upper bunk, wardrobe and sink Room 4: bunk bed and sink Outbuilding/shed with sauna. Rowboat can be borrowed. The cabin is located on a separate island, and there is no road access. To get to the cabin from the parking lot, you have to walk on a path along the water for about 500 meters. Good footwear is recommended as the trail can be wet. In winter, you can ski over the ice. There are no cross-country ski tracks to the cabin, but there are trails around the water nearby. It is about 500 m over the ice and a little steep slope at both ends. Recommended to have basic cross-country skiing skills. Beautiful hiking terrain with many hiking possibilities nearby. Kongevegen is nearby. Good fishing opportunities in Otrøvann right outside the cabin and the small lakes on site. Fishing licenses are purchased from Sigrid Nystuen (at the end of the lake) only NOK 75 per day/375 per week (children under 16 years free). Alpine facilities (Tyin-Filefjell ski center) at the other end of the lake (5 min by car). Great cross-country skiing in the area. Wood is available and can be used for fireplace and fire pit, but is not intended for heating. Bed linen and towels must be brought, but can be rented in the summer by appointment for NOK 200 per set. This is a family cabin that also has a personal touch. We expect guests to treat it with respect while enjoying their stay.
