Description
Rustic charm in nature The space This holiday home is an ancient mill with 112 m2 from the 18th century. This has a quaint charm with hand-shaped, irregular tiles and a spring that ripples out of the rock in the house. Antique tools hang on the walls. The thick stone walls ensure a pleasantly cool climate within the house, even without air conditioning. It is not a modern comfort apartment. Please note that the water of the spring is constantly splashing in the house. Please only book if you agree. The mill offers on the upper level a spacious living room with five single beds, a bathroom with small bathtub, also a bedroom with a double bed. On the lower level there is the kitchen with washing machine, another bathroom with a small bathtub, a niche behind a curtain with another double and a single bed, a dining area with a wood-burning stove and a stone water basin into which the fresh water of its own spring flows directly from the rock. Another single bed is located under the wooden stairs next to the dining table. In the cooler season, we use Nordic duvets instead of the sheets and blankets customary in Spain, because the former are more comfortable for many guests. Due to the warmth of the wood-burning stove, you can live comfortably in the mill even in winter. In total, the mill can accommodate 11 adults in two double and seven single beds. From the basement, a door leads to the large terrace facing east with a vine-covered pergola. It offers a beautiful view of the wooded valley. From here you can greet the rising sun. In the afternoon, when it gets hot in summer, the terrace is in pleasant shade and often a light, cooling breeze. The pool, which is reserved for the guests of the mill, also promises to cool you down. Guest access The mill is completely at the guests' disposal. It will not be used by anyone else during this time. Sometimes employees come to the terrace in the evening to water the plants. Other things to note The property is located in the countryside outside the white village of Algatocín. Here there is a lively nature with many insects and other animals. We recommend keeping food that attract insects in the fridge as well as always wash tables and countertops well, otherwise ant roads develop through the house within hours. Environmental protection is important to us, so try to largely refrain from poisoning. In the houses are mosquito nets at the windows and ultrasound appliances for the outlet to keep insects and rodents away. Sometimes, despite these measures, mosquitoes, ants, or wasps can enter the house. Please only book if you have carefully read the description of the houses and the surrounding area, have consciously chosen to stay in the countryside and agree to the associated liveliness. Use of the pool is reserved for the tenants of the mill. We ask that you wash sunscreen, cosmetics, and sweat before using the pool so that we can minimize the use of chlorine. Use is at your own risk. Please be aware of your children! Do not let the children go to the pool alone and monitor them when bathing. In Spain and Portugal, daily rhythms are different than in Germany, France or the UK due to the climate. So the lunch break in Spain is usually between 2 and 4 pm. Dinner is usually served in the restaurants only after 8 pm, Spaniards often don't eat until 10 pm. In Spain, it is assumed that a quiet night starts at midnight. In order to reconcile the needs of the different cultures, we have set a quiet night between 11 pm and 7 am as house rules. Noises from the neighbors may be heard until midnight. However, this is rare. However, in Spain and Portugal you can often hear dogs barking at night. Spaniards and Portuguese are used to it. Germans sometimes find it disturbing. Unfortunately, we have no influence on the neighbors' dogs. We ask that our guests provide with earplugs. The boiler for hot water as well as the hob are operated with gas bottles. When a bottle is empty, guests can change it on their own: 1. Flip the black lever. 2. Pull the black ring under the attachment upwards and remove the attachment. 3. Remove the seal from the new gas cylinder. 4. Attach the attachment, pull up the black ring and press the attachment down at the same time. The attachment should now be firmly seated on the gas bottle. 5. Move the black lever again. If it is not possible to firmly attach the attachment, the black lever is probably in the wrong position. Gas bottles are available for changing. We will be happy to help you change. We wish you a pleasant stay at our villa. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to contact us.
