There is plenty of shade along the beachfront and the ends of the beach have rocky reefs that offer good shore snorkeling options. There is a small mini market and two great restaurants - Father Rooster and Maracuya at Bahia Pez Vela Resort (the latter offers day passes to their Beach Club).
