Nestled amidst the lush farmland of north County Dublin the cottage is a 2 minute walk from Barnageeragh strand, 15 minute walk to Ardgillan Castle and a 5 minute drive to the village of Skerries. As its name suggests The Railway Cottage is situated right beside the Dublin Belfast rail line. The first train passes at approximately 6am with the last one passing at approximately 12:30 am The space The Railway cottage, which sleeps 5, is located just a short distance from the picturesque seaside town of Skerries. The cottage is a unique and cozy property. Step into the beautifully decorated open-plan living room and fully equipped kitchen. Sit and relax on the comfortable couch and gaze out at the countryside through the picture window. Climb upstairs and discover two bright bedrooms, with a little work space between them with fast 300 Mbps fibre broadband available if you are motivated to do some work!!! Go for a snooze or if you are feeling energetic take a scenic stroll up to Ardgillan Castle and enjoy the beautiful grounds and panoramic views of the sea. Weather permitting, you might decide to relax in the garden area while enjoying a beverage and some food. The property also has an outhouse which harks back to the time before indoor plumbing and modern conveniences existed. Other things to note Nestled in north County Dublin lies the seaside resort town of Skerries. Although small, its picturesque setting along the Irish Sea makes it a popular place to visit. here you will find plenty of restaurants and food outlets to cater for a wide range of tastes. You might prefer to kick back and enjoy a drink along the harbour and watch the fishermen landing their catch of the day. GETTING AROUND Dublin Bus route # 33 will bring you to Skerries and other towns in north County Dublin including Rush, Lusk and Swords as well as Dublin Airport and Dublin city centre. with the nearest stop just a couple of minute's walk from the cottage. Skerries train station is a 5 minute drive from the cottage and the journey time to Dublin city centre takes about 35 minutes. Skerries is a 20 minute drive from Dublin airport. DISCOVER SKERRIES & ITS SURROUNDINGS There is so much to do and see in Skerries and its surroundings. Visit the Skerries Mills, home to the oldest mill in Ireland, where you can see the authentic workings of a five-sail windmill, four-sail windmill, water mill and bakery. Walk to Ardgillan Castle from the cottage, a large country-styled house with castellated embellishments, built in 1738
