Welcoming home away from home.
Welcoming home away from home.
Description
We reside in an exceptionally unique area of London: centrally located yet with a suburban feel. Nestled along the tranquil banks of the River Thames, it offers peaceful surroundings and scenic walking paths leading all the way to Tower Bridge and beyond. Along the route, you'll find charming pubs perfect for quenching your thirst. The space My husband and I reside in a spacious four-bedroom house featuring two bathrooms, a guest toilet, a well-equipped kitchen, and a separate living/dining area. Downstairs, we have a guest room that remains largely unused. This room is what we reserve for our Airbnb guests. It boasts its own bathroom, private outside door that leads to the garden, ample closet space, a designated workspace, and a cosy double bed. Bathed in invigorating morning sunlight, we've installed blackout curtains for those who prefer a more gradual awakening. Our home exudes tranquillity, providing a peaceful environment conducive to both work and relaxation. While we occasionally work from our home offices, we are typically out and about. Nestled just beyond the banks of the River Thames, our house stands along the iconic Jubilee Walk, offering a perfect blend of urban exploration and natural beauty. Embarking on a leisurely stroll towards Tower Bridge, a mere 2-mile journey, you’ll encounter quaint English pubs nestled along the riverbank, inviting you to enjoy good food and refreshing drinks. Some of these establishments trace their origins back to 1550, adding a timeless charm to the area. Our local pub (across the road from us) offers fabulous food, live music on weekends and pub quiz nights. Further down the road we have the Old Salt Quay which, perfect for sundowners with a fabulous view over the City of London. Next you’ll find the Mayflower which is probably the most iconic in the area. The list goes on and on! Conveniently situated, our residence boasts proximity to key transportation hubs such as Canada Water, Rotherhithe, and Bermondsey stations. A brisk 20-minute walk leads you to Canada Water, while Rotherhithe is just a 15-minute stroll away. Alternatively, efficient bus services, with departures every few minutes from our doorstep, whisk you to any of these stations in just 5-10 minutes, ensuring seamless connectivity via the Jubilee line and the Overground. We also have a ferry across the road from the house that takes you across the Thames to Canary Wharf where you can also use the Uber boat services. Guest access Guests are welcome to use all of the downstairs area. Apart from using the kitchen to prepare dinner, we're mostly on the top floor. During your stay You can contact us on our mobile during your stay. You'll have your own set of keys to come and go as you please. Other things to note We sometimes dog sit for our neighbour when he is at work or on holiday. Charlie is a cute, cuddly, clever and very friendly Cavapoo. He is hypoallergenic and doesn’t loose hair. He doesn’t bark much and is a very chilled out doggy, not very noticeable. If you would prefer Charlie not to be here, please send me a message so I can make arrangements for him to stay somewhere else. See photos of Charlie in the additional photos.
