Cochinos Cays Beach House

My house is directly in front of a soft sandy white beach. It is located in a national marine reserve on the remote island of Cayos Cochinos. It is very private and extremely beautiful with a newer artistic house, has a full landscaped property, a white sand beach out your door, great coral reef, and some hiking trails. It is a 2 bedroom furnished house with a full size bed in each room. There are 3 extra, thin mattresses and can sleep up to 6 . please read entire listing before booking. The space This is an undeveloped island group. There are no roads or major stores on Cayos. . There is no public transportation, but transportation can be arranged. There is a full kitchen where you can cook your own meals or meals can be arranged by my manager. There are also a few basic resturants on the island group. Boat transportation or tours can be arranged with my manager. It has an alternative power system. , cell phone reception is weak, but strong enough to make calls and check emails. internet may be slow. Alternative power means you must be conservative with electricity or use the back-up generater. It can sleep up to 6 people. It is a private property with landscaped yard and fruit trees and gardens out back. The whole property is yours including ripening fruits. There is a bi lingual manager that lives on the next beach that can help you with any needs that may arrise. There is some very used snorkeling equipment available, and a small inflatable kayak. The house is very comfortable and has a solar electric system, small fans and a small refrigerator. It is the only private home on private property in Cayos available to rent. The only real iffy times are November and December. Easiest transport option is Through : "Tourist Options" out of La Ceiba. Or omar tours and Nuevo Ojos, out of Sambo Creek.They charge $25 to $40 per person if they already have a day trip going. For $200 you can rent a boat out of Sambo Creek. Private transport can be arranged with my manager for $80h to $125 each way, per boat load out of Nuevo Armenia. or $150 to $300 out of LA Ceiba. Boats can also be arranged from Roatan for $200 to $400 for a boat, but it may be more dependent on the sea conditions. Any repellent works to keep them away. we use baby oil, which works fine. there are nets for the beds, but are seldom needed. There is filtered water for your use also. Day tour groups sometime come to my beach during high season. usually between 11 and 1. , but then they leave and you get to stay.
