The space What really sets this rental home apart is the amazing view and cool sea breezes you get on the massive covered deck. Custom, oversized, sliding glass doors create the most fantastic effect. It’s all about the views on St. Croix and from the moment you step inside, you’ll be amazed at the sights and sounds of the Caribbean Sea and the surrounding hills. Complete with all new furniture and appliances, this home also includes wi-fi, an 82-inch smart QLED TV, a laundry room, an ironing board, a beautiful kitchen and a pullout sofa bed. Trail heads leading to Goat Hill and several local beaches are just steps away. During the migration season, you may see a humpback whale pass by your windows. After a summer rain, you’ll likely see fireflies lighting up the surrounding foliage. Deer can often be seen throughout the area and all of it can be viewed right from the comfort of your covered deck. This is a fantastic home, in one of the most beautiful locations in the world. A brand-new home, designed with an attached apartment on the lower floor and does not access the main house from the interior. The apartment door, bedroom and bathroom windows all face the Caribbean Sea. This small apartment is perfect for one or two guests and includes a kitchenet, Wi-Fi and a smart TV. A concrete patio was just poured and an outdoor table and chairs makes this the perfect place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee, while taking in the 180-degree view. Listen to the waves as you drift asleep in a new full-sized bed or walk the nearby trails to Goat Hill or the seashore. Note: To access the apartment, guests must walk down a dirt driveway and then walk up the same dirt driveway when they leave. This property is not ADA accessible. ELECTRICITY Electricity is extremely expensive in the Virgin Islands. Having no natural resources, natural gas is shipped here onboard large tankers, which is used to power the electrical grid on the island. We thank you in advance for conserving electricity whenever possible. It only takes a few minutes to cool the place off when you return, so please remember to turn off all fans and air conditioners before you leave for the day. AIR CONDITIONING Our home has the benefit of air conditioning in both bedrooms. You will find remote controls on the nightstands. We recommend that you use the air conditioners in “Dehumidifier Mode” (signified by raindrops on the display panel). This not only saves electricity but it also cools better than the standard A/C mode. Please ensure that all windows and outside doors are closed whilst the AC is running to ensure it operates at maximum efficiency. CEILING FANS Our home is equipped with ceiling fans throughout to help keep you cool. Each fan is operated via a wall switch and a remote. LAUNDRY APPLIANCES We have a washer and an electric dryer located in the utility room next to the east bedroom door. To operate the machines, simply select the program you want, place detergent in the tray, close the door, and hit start. TELEVISION We went big with an 82-inch smart QLED TV. A remote for the television is kept on the coffee table. BEACH EQUIPMENT A beach umbrella, ice cooler, beach chairs and beach towels are available for your use. Kindly use the outdoor garden hose to rinse the items before bringing them back into the house. Guest access HIKING TRAILS Trail Head No. 1 –Primarily, this trail is used to visit Goat Hill, which gives you an incredible 360-degree view of the island and surrounding waters. The trek is an uphill climb but it’s well marked and only a one-mile hike. Unlike what our parents told us, it’s not uphill both ways so coming back is much easier. Trail Head No. 2 – An easy hike to the beach. Depending on the season, seaweed can gather on the east facing beaches, making them unpleasant. If that’s the case, continue to past Jack’s Bay, to the very end of Isaac’s Bay where you’ll likely find a beautiful, secluded, white sand beach all to yourselves. POINT UDALL Point Udall is about 3 miles away. You can drive or walk to the location, passing by Kramer Park along the way. It sits and the far east end of the island and there’s something magical about watching the sunrise from there. Definitely, well worth getting up early to see. SNORKELING One of the very best snorkeling locations in the world is actually around the pier in Frederiksted. When cruise ships aren’t docked there, you can snorkel or scuba drive around the columns that support the pier. You’ll see schools of colorful fish and most likely a few sea turtles. Corral and starfish cling to the concrete columns as the sunlight easily reaches the bottom at 50-foot depths. Other things to note This vacation rental sleeps up to eight guests and is perfect for multiple families.
