Great Intag cloudforest farm - Nature and peace.

Unique wilderness and traditional farming adventure - "off-the-grid" experience, lots of cloud forest, waterfalls, great views of volcanoes, activities such as hiking, basket-making, milking and cheesemaking, sugar and coffee production, wonderful meals with home-grown ingredients, and tranquility and nature. Most of our food is home-produced, organically. The meals are paid directly to the family (10$ per person and per day). As the nearest ATM is in Otavalom please bring some cash. The space we offer comfortable and clean cabin-style accomodation, surrounded by cloudforest. This is a special destination, requiring a 3.5hour journey from Otavalo. (2 hours by taxi) Because it's remote, there are no shops nearby and we provide almost all food from our farm and gardens - we usually have meals together, as a family. The bathroom is shared with the host, and offers a hot shower. Here you can drink plenty of intag coffee and home-grown herbal teas. You should feel comfortable, "at home", and able to enjoy a great night's sleep after sampling a few of the many activities we offer guests, and trying our home-produced meals. We think there are few places in South America that provide such a range of activities for guests to enjoy and also to connect them with the way of life here. The life here is shared with our animals ; three cats and four dogs, and our chickens walk free outside. Guest access Apart from the bedrooms, you're also welcome to spend time with us in the adjacent farmhouse - this is where we cook, make baskets , chat, practice spanish with foreign guests, etc - all part of the cloudforestadventure experience. During your stay Some guests prefer almost total privacy, and we can certainly offer that! However, many of our visitors also enjoy experiencing our subsistence-farming lifestyle, and join in with tasks such as feeding the rabbits, guinea-pigs and hens, trying out local or national recipes in the Kitchen with Alba, basket making, coffee roasting and chocolate making. Here at cloudforestadventure, you won't lack for fun things to do - birding, exploring, nature, adventure... Other things to note hiking, birdwatching, camping (Piñan lakes area), orchid spotting, basketmaking, are just a few of the activities that we offer our guests - and we often spend the day with our guides, as guides/demonstrators (no cost for activities on our 170 acre farm).
