A peaceful, spacious getaway on the Wild Atlantic Way, with beautiful views overlooking Teelin estuary, and in the perfect location to explore the wonderful sites, beaches & villages of south Donegal. Close to Carrick town, walking distance to The Rusty Mackerel pub for food, drinks & music, and a short drive to both Slieve League cliffs & Silver Strand beach (voted best Wild Atlantic Way beach). With an outdoor veranda, and its own indoor sauna, relax and experience the best of south Donegal. The space This is a spacious home in a peaceful and tranquil setting. The kitchen extends into a conservatory overlooking the garden, with a beautiful view of Teelin Estuary, and out to the sea. And a wide veranda overlooking the water provides a great place for a morning coffee, or meal. At the back of the house, is a lovely view the local mountain/hills. A common comment from guests is "we wish we had stayed longer". It has it's own Sauna too! There are 2 spacious bedrooms upstairs, one with a super-king, the other with a king-size bed. There are also 2 fold-up beds in the house so that up 6 people can stay. There is a travel baby cot (just let us know in advance and we’ll set it up) and stair guards for those travelling with children. There is large picturesque garden. It has a steep slope so children would need to be accompanied in and around the garden. High speed internet (approx. 500 MB ethernet/ 240 MB laptop, 110 MBbus mobile phone). There is a separate garage at the entrance which is private and locked. Other things to note Getting About: Driving is the easiest way to get to the house and around the area. A bus also runs from Donegal town to Carrick (Route 293. In Donegal town this leaves from outside the Donegal Abbey Hotel, and drops off in Carrick outside the grocery store). An internet search of "Bus from Donegal town to Carrick, Donegal" will give you times. You can also hire bicycles in Carrick, at Irelandbybike, near the bridge. The house is on a steep hill so best to drive up this - it's possible to walk up this incline for those that are reasonably fit, but not suitable for elderly or more frail. It's possible to walk to Carrick and to the Rusty Mackerel pub, just take care of course while walking on the road . Parking: There is room to park 2 cars at the house. Young Children: The garden has an initial steep slope, then more gentle slope. Young children should be accompanied by an adult in and around the garden area, and especially at the left corner near of the driveway where there is no fencing. Phone Reception: The phone reception in the general area is patchy at best so best to use the house Wi-Fi and various texting and phone apps. Remote Working: There is a workspace with desk and chair in the Sauna room. There is also a small portable foldable desk which can be set up in any room. It is typically stored under the stairs or in one of the bedrooms.
