An exclusive villa set on a forested ridge which affords an incredible view of El Tucuche, Trinidad’s 2nd tallest mountain. Designed as a couple’s retreat, this 2 acre fenced property is all yours to escape to and dream away. Take in the mountainous greenscape as it dances with mist and clouds. Hear and see the scarlet macaws, green parrots, toucans and a host of other birds in their own paradise. You are truly their guest here as well. Rincon is pristine so we encourage you to also explore ! The space The Villa The home was initially designed by renowned local architect Geoffery Hererra for its owner as a private retreat and was built around 2006. The spacious, one-bedroom design wows the senses with its many large modern windows, high ceilings and its spacious feel while allowing in all the greenery and natural sounds you can process. The space also perfect for deep work with a clear head. Writers and artists would also definitely enjoy the serenity here while making progress on a project. With its zippy internet speeds you will also not be be out of touch with the world. Recent renovations have added a second ensuite bedroom below (presently still unfinished - will update the listing as it becomes fully functional ) where another queen sized bed and a full sized mohagany office desk will allow a very comfortable work space, or, share the cottage with another couple or with older kids. This room is accessed externally and also has two large heavy duty windows to enjoy the greenery. **The location of the villa is at the top of a ridge, accessed via a dual concrete track road. For safely we restrict only 4WD vehicles to drive up. There are 3 parking spaces for 2WD cars 1/2 way up to the villa** The Kitchen On the main floor you will enter into the large open kitchen which adjoins to the spacious porch through three wrought iron gates. The kitchen is very spacious and serves as part of the entertaining space once the gates are opened up. There are two rows of large windows bringing in light, air and greenery. The kitchen flows to the full bathroom through a beautiful wood and frosted glass rolling door. There is also a lovely wide wooden seat right at the entrance door, where one can sit and interact with folks in the kitchen, the porch or with folks sitting at the outdoor sitting area. The Porch The spacious porch area has a beautiful wooden perimeter seat perfectly set with a wrought iron cantilevered railing with a flat cedar top. This is a terrific seating option for a completely unobstructed view of the mountains. The porch and kitchen share a beautiful countertop and seats four with stools. The cooking area within the porch features the ability to set up a 3-ring gas cooker, a large single ring gas burner (for those large pot stews or currys) and a gas fired BBQ grill. The porch flows into the bedroom through two rustic wooden doors. The Bedroom The bedroom employs five large aluminum heavy duty windows, set low to the floor to bring the green views and fresh air in. The views are beautiful just laying in bed. A solid wooden door separates the bedroom to the bathroom. You can sleep safely with windows open and enjoy the fresh mountain air and sounds of the adjacent forest. Rarely do I ever close up the room and use the A/C at night. **This is not a child friendly bedroom due to the low position of the windows. You cannot leave small children unsupervised** The Bathroom The bright and airy bathroom sits between the kitchen and bedroom and can be locked for privacy. There is a panel of three heavy duty windows which also allows beautiful forest views. Close the windows to steam up while you bathe !! Guest access You will have the entire villa and 2 fenced acres to yourself. Other things to note This villa sits up on a ridge and is accessible via a partially steep concrete road which can be slippery when raining. We restrict our guests to use a 4wd vehicle for their own safety. There are a couple areas 1/2 way downhill to park 2wd vehicles.
