Sustainable Eco responsible, the construction is recent and modern, equipped with double insulation walls, roof and windows (shutters and screens included); low consumption equipment, the water is heated with solar energy (in summer) and also with the wood of the property (in winter) to supply hot water to the kitchens and bathrooms. (The electric support remains essential according to the periods between seasons). We are therefore connected to the electrical network, The region has opted for renewable energies for a long time. (hydro-electric dams, wind and solar parks...) the 2 apartments are heated by a wood stove. There is a composting area for organic waste. With our olive grove we produce our own organic olive oil. The swimming pool water is treated and recycled to optimize water consumption. Grey water is recycled. The Rio Zêzere has its source in Manteigas in the peaks of the Serra da Estrela, It is an ancient glacier that with time has given way to this V-shaped valley. After our mountains the river joins the Rio Tejo before flowing into the Atlantic, crossing the estuary of Lisbon.
