Eyrie House is the largest accommodation option & offers a truly comfortable, luxurious and stylish stay, perfect for indoor and outdoor living. Located on the Diepklowe Private Nature Reserve we have 1000 acres of fynbos and renosterveld that is home to a wide variety of birds and wildlife. Hikes, views, riverine forests, olive groves, streams and rock pools and a reed-ringed dam - swim, kayak, picnic or just sit under the willow tree and quietly enjoy the solitude and the birdsong. The space Eyrie House faces the impressive Eagle Rock - a cliff face that has been home to a pair of nesting Verreaux eagles for at least 100 years. An original farm house with wooden floors, a large covered timber deck with daybed and loungy chairs, that looks out over the large garden, trees, lawns and a fabulous pool. It sleeps six in three en-suite bedrooms. The large main bedroom opens onto a vine-covered veranda and has the option of being made up as either a king-size bed or 2 singles. The bathroom has a bath with a hand-shower. The second bedroom is a queen with an indoor shower and leads onto a private veranda with an outdoor shower. The third bedroom is a queen with an indoor bath nad leads onto a private verandah with an outdoor shower. Large outdoor braai facility with outdoor tables and seating. A fully equipped kitchen with a large fridge, freezer, oven and stove, dishwasher, all crockery, glassware etc. Open plan lounge with large fireplace, comfortable couches and armchairs, flat-screen TV that can be connected to your personal computer for Netflix, DSTV etc. WIFI. Long dining room table that can seat up to 12. The dining room and lounge open onto the covered deck and braai area with table and chairs for outdoor eating. The pool has a large timber deck with loungers and table and chairs under the trees and another great view of the cliff face. We supply a stock of firewood and firelighters, all bathroom amenities, tea, filter coffee, sugar and a taste of our Porcupine Hills organic olive oil. Extra firewood is available at R50/crate if needed. Guest access The last 7kms of the van der Stel Pass coming from the Grabouw (R321 side) and the whole of the 16km from Botriver to Porcupine Hills is gravel - but regularly graded and fine for all types of cars, other than very low-slung sporty numbers! All the roads on the property are also gravel but not a problem. Winter rains do leave a lot of mud and puddles.. Other things to note There is an option of accommodating extra guests/kids at an additional cost. The large main bedroom has a sleeper couch and there is a single daybed in the lounge.
