La Chunga is in a difficult access indigenous community without electricity or roads. Come see this gem of a community and the indigenous way of life. You’ll love this place because of the nature walks, the wildlife, the gastronomy, and the people. We have a number of guided tours and adventures. My place is good for adventurers trying to see something new and exciting. The space La Chunga is a small community in the Comarca Embera Wounaan in Darien, Panama. La Chunga is a popular destination to see the local indigenous Embera tribe and their lifestyle. Birders, Agriculture Enthusiasts, Anthropologists, and Biologists come to check out the local landscape, wildlife, and culture. The Cabanas are owned and operated by Rutilio Barqueno and his wife Bremilda. $30 per person per day includes homestay at our bungalows. Trips, tours, and food are additional, but are very reasonably priced :) Guest access Guests have access to the cabanas, kitchen area, and bathroom. A natural swimming hole is right next to the cabanas. Other things to note There is no electricity, but there are solar panels to charge any appliance. Water is treated for guests. Food is prepared with love and from the farms of this subsistence farming community.
