Our home is nestled under a canopy of conifers next door to the Tahoe National Forest and only a 5 minutes drive to downtown Nevada City. Our private guest suite, which is tastefully decorated, is furnished with a queen size bed, bathroom, walk-in closet, gas fireplace, smart tv, and has a private entrance. It is a separate unit located in the lower portion of our home. A small kitchen includes a sink, 2-burner gas stove, a microwave, and an assortment of cooking spices. Also included are a mini-fridge, toaster oven, Kurig coffee maker, as well as dishes, glasses, utensils, cutlery, a cooking pot and a frying pan. A gas barbecue is available upon request. A continental breakfast with juice, coffee, and tea are provided for short stays. Enjoy the expansive view from the private porch or the shared deck while you soak in the hot tub or relax on the deck and read a book. Put on your hiking boots or jump on your mountain bike to explore the miles of trails beckoning you nearby. Scotts Flat Lake is a 10-minutes drive where you can kayak, paddle board, and go boating. The pristine Yuba River is 15 minutes away with beautiful swimming pools and hiking trails. 45 minutes to Sugarbowl and 1 1/2 hours to many Lake Tahoe resorts. The quaint Harmony Ridge Market is a mile up the road. They stock a variety of groceries (not fruit or veggies) and have a great deli as well in case you want to pick up some sandwiches before hitting the trails. Historic Nevada City is full of Victorian charm with great restaurants, entertainment, wine tasting, art galleries, museums, and a calendar full of community events year round. The guest room is situated in the lower portion of the house in the back with a private entrance and porch. You may access it on a sidewalk under the deck. There is parking on the pavement in front of the sidewalk. You are welcome to use the hot tub as well as the deck and patio furniture. BBQ is available upon request. We live on site and will welcome you at check-in. Self-check in instructions are available as well if you arrive when we are not home or not available. We may occasionally see you at different times during your stay. We will be happy to tell you about the town of Nevada City and help answer your questions. We will also be happy to replenish dishes and linens as needed. Our home is on 2.5 secluded acres in a forest of firs, cedars, and oaks with a stunning view of the Sierra Buttes. There are some neighbors in the vicinity who are all very friendly and quiet. We live 3 miles from Nevada City. There is no public transportation other than a taxi or Uber, so you will need a car. We have a very friendly Springer Spaniel on the property named Cooper and a happy little white terrier, Winston, who is a little more shy. Cooper likes to bark a "hello" to all our guests when they arrive.
