Casa Opa. Tiny & Rustic, AC, 15min walk to beach!

Bienvenidos a Casa Opa! Studio-style A-frame on large, fenced lot surrounded by nature, on a dead end road in a small, but growing neighborhood with friendly neighbors in Bahia Ballena. Relax in the hammock outside and maybe catch the Scarlet Macaws playing in the trees overhead! A 12-15min walk (or a quick drive) to the beach & amazing Marino Ballena National Park. Only 5-15min walk to restaurants, cafes, yoga studios & mini supermarkets. Perfect for a couple, or solo travelers. The space This A-frame has a cozy, bright feel from the local pino wood, and two sky lights. It sits on a 1600meter (just under 1 acre) fenced property with numerous trees and plants. One other home is on the property next door, sometimes vacant, or with other airbnb or longer term guests. Spacious porch has a has a mountain view and cute bistro-style table and 2 chairs for sipping morning coffee or working in nature w/your laptop. A hammock hangs just outside in the garden area to relax in. Plug in the fairy lights in the evenings for an extra cozy feel inside and on the porch. The tiny kitchen has all you need. Coffee maker, rice maker, small refrigerator, electric induction stove top, all dishes & cookware, ground coffee, sugar, salt and cooking oil included! Fast fiber optic internet! The bathroom has an electric shower head that will give you warm water in an otherwise cold-only shower (in typical Costa Rican style), a toilet and small sink, shelving for your toiletries and towels for you to use. There is an outdoor "surfboard" shower in front between the 2 casitas, for washing off after the beach, etc. A couple bikes should be available for you (and any other guests staying in the other house) to use as well. A costa rica style washing machine and drying lines are behind the bungalow to do your laundry! Guest access The whole property is yours to use & explore. There are many fruit plants and edible trees & bushes, tumeric root, etc. There is another home on the property next to this one that is may or may not be occupied by AirBnb guests as well, so we just ask to respect the space around that home to give them privacy. The whole property is fenced and you'll receive a key to the gate and home. Lots of room to park securely inside the gate if you have a car. For travelers on foot, the surrounding roads are all dirt, so during rainy season (April-Nov generally) expect puddles. The area is safe for walking, but bring a flashlight (phone flashlight is fine) for after dark! There are street lights, but not everywhere. We are 10-15 minutes walking distance from the beach, restaurants and mini supermarkets. And there are local taxi services around, should you need or want. A car might be recommended during rainy season (roughly May-Nov) so you’re not stuck anywhere, but again local taxis are a phone call away. If arriving to Uvita by Tracopa bus, we recommend you taking a taxi to our location for the first time since it will be about a 25-30 minute walk otherwise. You can find Taxis across the street in front of the supermarket (Supermercado Pacifico). If arriving by a local bus (the ones that make a lot of stops and are cheaper), you can ride down into Bahia and get off on the very last stop before it turns around back into Uvita. We are a 6-8 minute walk from there. Other things to note Bahia and Uvita are booming and growing. Lots of people moving to the area, and it's a big tourist area due to the humpback whales that migrate twice a year, so you'll find construction most everywhere you go. On the far opposite road from our property there is a bit of construction on some of the empty lots there. Just to keep in mind if you are looking for complete quiet. The center of Bahia Ballena along with a mini supermarket and many restaurants, are just 10 minutes away by foot (or 1-2 min drive!). The town of Uvita is 20-25 minutes walking or a 5 minute drive. The casita is for max 2 people and price is for up to two persons. You have a small handful of great neighbors right next to you (personal friends of ours live in the houses along our little road), and generally a long-term term renter in the home on the same property next door.
