We are always trying to improve the accommodations, with painting, renovations and small repairs. The last renovation is recent, from December 2022, we replaced the clay tile with an isothermal tile that provides greater thermal comfort in the place, the house has new paint! In this renovation, we were able to increase the ceiling height and put windows throughout the upper part of the house, which provided greater ventilation and lighting in the place, in addition to a breathtaking ocean view. The house was built in 1970 by a local fisherman and his family. After that, we made some renovations for the improvements and well-being of our guests. The house has a door (which became a balcony) that is a remnant of a big house. The Cajaíba Inn has many stories, and when talking to the natives we always discover new tales! It is a place where tourists spend little and have a lot of fun! Guest access Arrival - To get there, you need to take a speedboat to the beach. I recommend native boatmen after the reservation is made. The value of the boat is negotiated directly with them. Remember that leaving from PARATY MIRIM is cheaper due to proximity. Choosing to leave from PARATY can become more expensive, but it is also a unique experience. We suggest you bring candles, matches, toilet paper, garbage bags to protect your bags, and repellent. The garbage boat only comes once a week. Separate your garbage. FOOD - There are restaurants on site, the food is great. But out of season it is important to check which ones are open. INTERNET/PHONE – The house has wifi, it's not the best in the world, but it works. Cell phones usually only get a signal on the beach or in high places. Claro has the best signal. FISH AND SEAFOOD - The landing is a fishermen's beach, it is very easy to find fresh fish and seafood to buy and cook. Talk to the locals, they'll help you. BAKERY/GROCERY STORE - You can access basic products such as bread, onions, garlic and other things (especially in season and on holidays). Other things to note Respect nature, the place does not have garbage collection, guests must bring large garbage bags to collect garbage and take it with them on the boat when returning to Paraty. We recommend burying organic waste. Bring candles! It's so beautiful to be candlelit in nature! Also, there are some power fluctuations that can catch you off guard. So it's important to have this security. Also, bring flashlights for walking at night. At the landing, you can see nocturnal algae (bioluminescent) in the sea. We recommend bringing diving goggles to enjoy nature at night too! Bring repellent and SBP or Raid if you want to have a quieter night. Remember that we are in the middle of the Atlantic Forest and insects appear.
