Description

Welcome to Silver Bay! This cottage is in a cherished little beach community that we have been a part of for the last 50 years. Our cottage a few minute walk to a private association beach. Located on "The Firelanes" which are quiet single lane roads where kids can run and play. The bay is great for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, walking on the beach, and finding sea glass. The space Our cottage is a three bedroom one bath cottage. We have a nice porch. A fire pit in the backyard. Guest access You have the whole place. It is a single family home with a private yard. Other things to note This cottage is approximately a three minute walk to a sandy beach. This cottage is the row behind those on the beach and does not have a beach front view. Due to insurance we can allow a maximum of 6 guests including kids. It is 1/2 mile to the "Friendship Trail" you can run or bike there. Dogs are not allowed on the beach outside of early morning or evening walks. You may see some dogs there and those are people ignoring the rules. It's kind of a problem so please don't bring your dog on the beach between 9:00 and 5:00. SEAWEED: In some years Lake Erie warms up around July and seaweed that grows way out in the lake dies and washes in. This doesn't phase people who have been coming here for years (or decades) but it can be a surprise. The Seaweed is often 6' wide at the edge of the water. It's smelly to walk through then the water should be clear once you pass it. This is just a part of life on the Great Lakes. Also note, the waves are fun but can be dangerous. There are storms that come in and big waves for a "lake". They can knock you over or a rip tide can push you around. It's best to assume that you are in the ocean, not a lake. Extra details: RACCOONS: The raccoons attack the garbage cans if you put them out on the street or leave the shed unlatched. This will happen every night! Garbage must stay in the shed until Monday AM. If you are there Monday AM please roll the cans to the driveway.
