A short 10 minute walk through forested trails (or three minute drive) brings you to Goose Spit Park, featuring miles of beach for walking, swimming, sandcastle building, kayaking, canoeing and standup paddle boarding. Bring your picnic and enjoy one of the many bbq firepits (wood provided). Comox Valley summer highlights include the annual Filberg Festival (a mecca for arts and crafts lovers). Nautical Days for family fun, Vancouver Island Musicfest and Comox Airshow (Aug 15). Just 45 minutes away lies Mount Washington and the gateway to Strathcona Park, offering stunning scenery in BC's first wilderness park. Strathcona Park is 40 minutes away and it provides excellent hiking in the mountains with fresh water swimming in numerous lakes. Mt. Washington is 40 minutes away, it provides excellent family skiing, both downhill and cross country, with snowboard parks. Pets: The owner of Midden Manor allows dogs. There is a fenced yard.
