Talacre’s most obvious feature is the Point of Ayr Lighthouse which dates back to 1776. Within the village there are two pubs, the popular Point Bar & Restaurant and the Lighthouse Inn, along with a post office that sells the essentials. The area around the beach, Gronant Dunes and Talacre Warren is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) with an RSPB reserve, home to rare species including the natterjack toad, whilst the nearby Dee Estuary is a haven for wintering birds.
