San Giovanni D’Asso is a delightful hilltop town only 3kms from Ampella Hamlet. Dating back to medieval times the village surrounds the walls of a twelfth century castle. Here you will find traditional Tuscan restaurants and shops selling the local produce. The town boasts the only truffle museum in Italy, as well as hosting an annual truffle festival in November each year. There are also two important churches; the Romanesque church, San Giovanni Battista, and San Pietro in Villare. The picturesque Tuscan town of Montisi is 4kms from Ampella Hamlet.
