Traum House is an oasis nestled in sleepy St. Augustine, the perfect respite for any traveller. Traum House is one of the few properties bestowed with a name in Trinidad. Legend has it that it was given to a German who escaped Nazi Germany and he named it Traum, German for dream to represent the solace and security he felt here. In honor of the legacy of Traum we have named the rooms after our ancestors: Goodar, Moonia, Kowlessar, Madan, Driller & Raimoon and parents Roopnarine and Romasha. The space Madan ( a room in Traum House) is beautifully furnished and air conditioned with a fan and room safe. The room comprises of a queen size, single bed and sofa bed which can accommodate up to 4 persons. Guests can expect to cook delicious meals in our spacious and well equipped kitchen, breakfast materials are provided. Breakfast can be requested (when there are more than 5 guests staying at Traum) and is served between 7.00 am and 9.30 am. Breakfast is based on a fixed menu (scrambled eggs, sausages, local jam, cheese, toast [white or brown], local fruit of the season, juice, and hot beverage-coffee and/or tea). Management may offer an additional Caribbean breakfast dish. To avoid food wastage, breakfast quantities are determined on prior requests of guests. Our guests can also relax in hammocks on our porch and enjoy the cool Caribbean breeze or take a dip in our swimming pool or perhaps borrow a book from our extensive library and relax poolside. For guests who would like to remain active while enjoying their stay, guests can walk, run or jog around the neighborhood and enjoy the fresh breeze and central views of Santa Margarita. Or even, hike to one of the main tourist attractions "Mount Saint Benedict Abbey" which comprises of a church, a monastery, a seminary. Bathroom facilities are shared with another room. Airport pickup is available at a cost of US$15.00 Guest access Guests will be able to access the kitchen, porch, living room, library, pool. During your stay Traum House is ran by a dedicated team, some of whom live on the property and are readily available by phone or email.
