House Rules (must meet these to book): Sleeps 8 (adults + children), Friday - Friday only during the summer (last week of June - start of Sept), Lead guest must be 30+ years old. No parties allowed. Lucerne Lake is a no-motor lake. Please bring your own indoor and outdoor / beach towels. A supplemental information form must be completed. Hidden away just south of Bancroft is picturesque, motorless, Lucerne Lake. Perched neatly at the south end of the lake is the aptly named Lucerne Lookout, a cottage made for a family that wants to enjoy a week of quiet relaxation, swimming, and good times at the waterfront. The cottage will take you a little by surprise, much in the same way the Tardis does - it's bigger inside than it looks. A split-bungalow design (walkout to deck/patio on both levels), it provides plenty of space for a group to enjoy communal time as well as places to retreat for quieter times. The lower level features 2 bedrooms with lake views as well as laundry and a 4-piece bath. As a bonus, there is a media/sitting room here - a perfect spot for a rainy day or late-night movie. Upstairs is where this cottage really shines. Two large bedrooms as well as the kitchen, dining and living areas adorn this level, with the living and dining rooms enjoying the nicest lake views of all. The kitchen has all you need for cottage cooking and your group will enjoy the lakeview dining indoors as well as stepping outside to enjoy a burger or hot dog offered up by the family grill master. Down the stairs to the waterfront, you'll find a spacious dock and a small beach area - offering both shallow and deeper water swimming. A canoe will let you paddle leisurely around the lake, and you won't be bothered by motorized craft here - just the ripples your own paddles create. A fire pit adjacent to the cottage lets you enjoy the eternal tradition of the evening campfire. A ghost story and a couple of roasted marshmallows are the perfect end to a day in cottage country. Out and about? Bancroft is just 10 minutes away and is a wonderful little town that offers all you will need in terms of shopping, restaurants (a brew pub, pizza, Chinese are all options), the Village Play House, an art gallery. ice cream (we've always been partial to Kawartha Dairy but there are a few options) and book and thrift stores. As cottage country towns go, Bancroft has something for everyone. We think Lucerne Lookout will be a place your family will build some fabulous memories! Inside the Cottage Sleeps 8 (including children) 4 bedrooms (2 king, 1 queen, 1 set of double/single bunk beds) 2 4-piece bathrooms TV in living room with satellite and fire stick; Smart TV on lower level Central Air Conditioning Pack 'N Play and High Chair Fully-equipped kitchen with dishwasher Outside the Cottage Deck overlooking the lake Propane BBQ Canoe, 2 SUPs, and child kayak Firepit with seating.
