Time to close-by historical places of interest: Appomattox Court House surrender grounds: 4 minutes Virginia Civil War Museum: 2 minutes Patrick Henry's Home in Red Hill: 30 minutes National D-Day Memorial in Bedford: 55 minutes Thomas Jefferson's summer home, Poplar Forest, in Forest: 45 minutes Thomas Jefferson's home, Monticello, in Charlottesville: 1 hour 15 minutes Disclosure: We do own a cat that we will board while you are staying.
