Our newly remodeled Cape Cod home is located in the quaint town of Avalon on beautiful Catalina Island! The Old Turner Inn is an elegant 1926 landmark with 5 ensuite bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, new kitchen, indoor laundry, central A/C, large dining, SmartTVs, 5 fireplaces & outdoor gas grill - for groups up to 12 (2-night minimum). Boaters special: 40' mooring near the Yacht Club (guaranteed in advance based on availability.) For a healthy environment, we are a smoke and pet-free property. The space Our charming vacation home is 2,730 sq. ft, large by Avalon standards and includes two stories. Up to 12 guests will love having their own private spaces while enjoying each other's company in the communal areas. Every room has its own built-in A/C/heat so guests can control their comfort level. While we are within a 5-minute walk from most everywhere in Avalon, guests love the option of full privacy with curtains, shades, and double-pane windows. All bedrooms have blackout window treatments. Free WiFi access is of course, provided for our guests. DOWNSTAIRS level hosts the common areas plus one guest ensuite bedroom. The living room has a fireplace, piano, Smart TV, board games, and retro turntable with bluetooth for your musical enjoyment. The dining room for 12 is separate from the newly remodeled and fully-equipped kitchen. A bonus bar, indoor laundry (2 commercial washers & dryers), full bathroom w/shower, and additional powder room will make your vacation easy, relaxing, and memory-filled! Upstairs you'll enjoy four cozy ensuite bedrooms, each with private bathrooms remodeled with all new fixtures and gorgeous marble tile. (3 have bath/shower combo!) All suites boast luxury hotel bedding and mattresses, Smart TVs, and tasteful decor with a mix of antiques. Electric fireplaces in three suites provide a romantic ambiance. Here are the 5 bedroom layouts: DOWNSTAIRS: #1 GARDEN ROOM - Cal King bed, ensuite bath with walk-in shower, fireplace & Smart TV. UPSTAIRS: #2 KING SUITE - Cal king bed, twin bed in adjacent sunroom, tub/shower combo, fireplace, TV. #3 QUEEN SUITE - Queen size bed, twin bed in adjacent sunroom, walk-in shower, fireplace., TV, and desk in sunroom. #4 SEASHELL SUITE - California king bed, tub/shower combo, fireplace, TV, full closet. #5 DREAM SUITE - Queen size bed, tub/shower combo, TV, full closet. OUTSIDE: Outdoor hot/cold shower for rinsing the sand off after a relaxing day at the beach, only a block away! Beach towels, chairs, cooler, sand mats and wagon are included. Gas BBQ grill will feed a hungry crowd and with Von's grocery across the street, you'll find lots of dining options for at home! (We are on the backside of Von's so not to worry about noise!) Guest access Guests have full use of the entire property and usually prefer the side entrance for access in and out. Other things to note Families and groups love that we are in "the flats" meaning the central part of Avalon near the water - no hills to climb and one block to the beach! We are walking distance from the Catalina Express boats, all the shops, restaurants, Von's grocery, miniature golf, bike & golf cart rentals, diving, snorkeling, the plaza for meeting island excursions, miniature golf, parasailing, Immersed indoor diving theater, Catalina Museum for Art & History, Avalon Library, and the Green Pleasure Pier for fishing, boating, and paddleboarding. And you won't want to miss a tour of Avalon's crown jewel - the Casino - which is not a casino at all but a spectacular art deco masterpiece built by William Wrigley, Jr. and opened on May 29, 1929. The iconic building features a first-floor theater with soaring murals and 20,000 square foot balcony ballroom that hosts year-round events. We have a unique offering for boaters, too! If your boat is 40' or less, we can arrange a guaranteed mooring for as long as you request near the Catalina Island Yacht Club (when not previously reserved.) You will pay the usual daily fees directly to the Harbor department on behalf of the City of Avalon.
