Guests are also welcome to use the kayaks and rowboat at the float house to explore the John Day River. Guests will have access to the whole house during the stay and are welcome to explore the property, as well. The large dock offers a place to tie up personal watercraft and embark on kayaking or paddle boarding adventures. About 5 miles east of historic Astoria, Oregon, The Float House at Jack Creek is located within easy distance of many outdoor activities, including clam digging, fishing, beaches, museums, shopping, hiking and fine dining. Being so close to the Pacific Ocean, the float house is affected by its tides. Since the house is actually floating, it will go up and down with the level of the river and guests will experience the changes the natural beauty that accompanied the change of tides. Clatsop County charges a 10.5% Transient Room tax that Airbnb does not automatically collect. That will be calculated on your nightly rate and will be collected through the Airbnb app when you check in.
