This luxury home is extremely welcoming and comfortable while offering guests the highest level of modernity in a mid century modern home that has been meticulously renovated. It has an amazing, award winning chef's kitchen with all the necessities, including incredible appliances, high end supplies, including a steam oven. A dream bathroom has a two-person sauna. Incredible views of Mt. Ranier and Lake Washington and a wonderful deck for entertaining make this a great retreat or place to work. The space The house is three floors. Access is level and all stairs are internal. Main Floor: Enter into the foyer and experience the architect’s vision: the stairs open before you beckoning you to the three upstairs bedrooms and two full baths. Turn right into a large living room equipped with a large HDTV for comfortable family viewing. Or simply look east through floor to ceiling windows at the vast expanse of Lake Washington. Formal enough to host friends for a drink, it’s also comfortable enough to cuddle up for movie night as a couple or a group. Turn left and you’ll find yourself in another small living space perfect to settle down with a book or a mug of your favorite beverage. Also on the main floor is a dining area that seats 8 comfortably and a gourmet kitchen. Here, too, floor to ceiling glass brings the views of Lake Washington and Mt. Rainier to you. The award winning kitchen design is a chef’s dream. It has plenty of hidden secrets including butcher blocks and hand hewn knives. Le Crueset cookware nests in pot drawers, along with other high end cookware. A Breville espresso machine has its own little coffee station, and bakers will delight with the professional grade kitchen aid mixer. From oyster shuckers to a Vita-mix blender, the kitchen will most likely have what you need. Deck access is through French glass doors. A small half-bath completes the main floor. Upstairs: There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms and a laundry. All mattresses are Nectar brand’s high end memory foam and beloved by all. Guests have left and purchased them for themselves! All bathrooms have heated floors. The primary bedroom has a king bed and a shower and bathroom. The room has gorgeous views and a skylight, as well as an enormous walk-in wardrobe area. There other two bedrooms both have Queen beds. One has a bureau and the other has a closet with internal drawer storage. One has stunning views of Lake Washington. The shared full bathroom has a bath with shower head. Here, too, there is a view! Downstairs: There is a full studio ADU with internal access when the whole house is rented. It has a King bed, a full kitchen, a large HDTV, and a gorgeous spa bathroom. The bathroom has a two person sauna and a magnificent bath that is designed to keep water hot for much longer than the typical bath. There is a large separate shower, too. The floor has radiant heat that is a joy on a cold winter morning. A closet and a high end washer and dryer completes the space. Carport: A two-car carport, complete with electric charger, is available for parking. The charger is available for use with an additional fee. Heating and AC: There is new central heating and AC throughout the house. The main floor and upstairs are on the separate system from the downstairs. Pets: No pets, please. Events: If you plan to host a meal or event for more than the up to the 8 guests staying in the house, please let us know. For significantly larger events, there will be an additional fee to cover costs that inevitably occur for us as hosts. For smaller events, we can discuss additional parking options, etc. Other things to note This is not a house for young children. Most importantly, the upstairs windows do not have safety guards, and we would have concerns about young children playing near them if they were open. The kitchen is not child proofed. This house is not easily accessible for anyone with significant mobility issues. There is no bedroom on the main floor, unfortunately. No pets, please. Larger events while staying in the house only with host permission. And finally, we love guests who sort their garbage, recycling and food waste and then dispose of them in the appropriate bins. It helps us the and planet immensely. So, we will refund you $75 of the cleaning fee if the caretaker doesn’t have to sort/resort it.
