Welcome to "The Cabin," as our family calls our beautiful home on the south fork of the American River in twin bridges, CA. You can actually sit and watch climbers ascend and descend Lover's Leap and the surrounding mountains. A stairway leads you from our lower deck down to the shores of the river where there is a great swimming hole where people come from all over to spend a day in the sun. The cabin is within walking distance to Lover's Leap and is just minutes by car to the Desolation Wilderness/National Forest with hundreds of miles of hiking trails, rivers, Horsetail Falls, and pristine lakes. Sierra at Tahoe ski resort is 10 minutes away and a 20 minute breathtaking scenic drive over the Sierras brings you to South Lake Tahoe and its casinos, Heavenly Valley, many golf courses, restaurants and beautiful, incomparable lakes. Beautifully and comfortably furnished with all that you will need for a day or a month, including linens and towels. Kitchen with all stainless steel appliances and everything you need to prepare a quick snack or a gourmet meal (food and chef not included). 3 bedrooms plus additional sleeping loft sleeps 8. 2.5 bathrooms, 2 fireplaces, natural oak floors, open beamed ceilings. Living room with its flagstone fireplace has windows overlooking the river and Lover's Leap and its adjoining dining area has a country pine table that extends to seat 12--enough to accommodate a family gathering. The loft has a double and two single beds; main floor bedroom has a queen bed, master en suite bedroom has a queen bed, fireplace and wet bar; our small office has a twin bed. There is WiFi at The Cabin. We do not have cable TV, but there is a Roku TV from which you can log into your own streaming apps. Please see Other Details To Note for electricity allowance and charges for excess usage. Breakage/Supplies: Please leave a note for us if you have broken anything. Of course, accidents occur, but we would appreciate it if you let us know of anything that is broken. It would also be helpful if you let us know of any supplies that need to be replenished (garbage bags, dishwasher detergent, etc.) Other things to note ELECTRICITY USAGE (The entire house runs on electricity). Excess usage rates will be charged. Usage rates and allowances will be applied for the day of arrival through the day of departure. For example, if you book 2 nights, your allowance and usage will be for 3 days. You will be given a per day allowance depending on the time of year, as stated below. From April 1 to the day before Thanksgiving, guests are given an electricity usage allowance of $25 per day. Guests will be charged for excess usage above $25. From Thanksgiving day through March, guests are given an electricity allowance of $50 per day. Guests will be charged for excess usage over $50 per day. Please note: Peak usage/billing hours are between 4pm and 9pm PGE posts daily use 2 days in arrears. Therefore, guests will be billed for any excess usage on the 3rd day after departure. Self Check-in not earlier than 4pm. Check-out is 11:00 am We will, on occasion, make special arrangements for earlier check-in and later check-out. VHR Permit #: 075867 and Transient Occupancy Tax #: 076676 Quiet hours must be observed by county ordinance between 10pm to 8am Maximum occupancy 8. Per county ordinance children 5 years and younger do not have to be included in the maximum to be compliant with our occupancy permit. However our owner rules are 9 maximum including children, unless they are in a crib. Maximum occupancy must be observed 10pm to 8am per county ordinances.
