Inishowen Artists' Retreat

A beautiful 1800s Irish cottage with a working artist studio, tastefully restored in the centre of Inishowen, with access to historical landscapes and beautiful beaches. The retreat is ideal for families or small groups, but perfect for musicians, writers and painters. We offer optional oil painting workshops in the studio. These are paid for in advance through Airbnb. Most guests enjoy painting land or seascapes, but you can let us know if you'd like something different. The space The cottage was built from traditional, local materials and we have restored it using these traditions where possible. It has two twin bedrooms, a small modern bathroom with shower, toilet and basin. There's a utility room with fridge and washing machine. The modern kitchen includes a gas stove and electric oven. The living area, adjoining the kitchen, has a large sofa, two armchairs, bookcase full of books and games, a woodburning stove (we leave you a basket of logs to start with) and dining area. Guest access You get access to all parts of the cottage, but the studio is shared with us. It's a working artist studio used on a daily basis. Parking is on a shared driveway - shared with our house, which is next door. There's a seating area in the garden (again shared with us) with firebowl and BBQ. You can enjoy our 3/4 acre organic garden with trees and meadow. The cottage has a ramp for wheelchairs, but isn't 100% accessible as it's about 200 years old. Please ask us about the accessibility features. Other things to note We have an electric car charger point - you can charge your car and pay us for the electricity you use. We have a dog and two cats.
