Persimmon Hill at Bouldin Food Forest Farm Stay
Persimmon Hill at Bouldin Food Forest Farm Stay
Description
Welcome to Persimmon Hill at Bouldin Food Forest, a unique opportunity to discover and enjoy an organic farm in Central Texas! You will be staying on a true regenerative production farm, where the owners work year round to provide the freshest, most flavorful vegetables and fruits to Austin and the surrounding communities. The house you will stay in was designed and built from the ground up by your hosts, who strive to make your visit relaxing and memorable. You can also buy produce in season! The space The house consists of two living spaces; one side is a comfy living room with a loft bed above, the other side is a kitchen and dining area with a bistro table & chairs and a couch. There’s even a chalkboard wall where you can write your name or draw a picture for future guests to enjoy! To accommodate guests who may have mobility impairments, we've recently added a Coddle Switch sofa to the living room. This sofa transforms into a true Queen-sized sleeping area in seconds, so accessing the loft isn't necessary to get a fabulous nights' sleep. The guest house features a screened in porch with a handmade daybed, and a custom-made dining table for outdoor meals. Our backyard has a fire pit with an optional cast iron griddle to cook your meals outside! All BBQ utensils and tools are available for use. There is a separate luxurious shower house with all the amenities included. All running water on the property comes from a rainwater collection system, and is filtered using the most advanced UV and charcoal filters for pure, clean water right from the tap! At this time, we are unable to accommodate children under 7 years old. A farm can be dangerous place for toddlers, with large dogs, wildlife, and farm equipment at every turn. This property and its owners are and will always be LBGTQ+ friendly. 🏳️🌈 The Mental Health Foundation has found that connecting with nature is critical to our health. People who are more connected with nature are usually happier in life and more likely to report feeling their lives are worthwhile. Nature can generate many positive emotions, such as calmness, joy, and creativity, and can facilitate concentration, which makes Persimmon Hill an ideal getaway Fluffy towels, bathrobes and slippers are provided Guest access The entire guesthouse is yours to enjoy, as well as the pool with yoga deck, and fire pit with cast iron griddle for outdoor cooking in the backyard. The guest house is located next to the host main house. You are welcome to explore the farm and surrounding 150 acres of land, which we lease for cattle grazing. Your hosts live and work on the property, so you may encounter them filling bird feeders, tending crops or herding ducks during your stay. We strive to afford you as much privacy as possible but the guesthouse is not isolated. Other things to note You will be staying on an actual working organic farm! This means there may be noise, crew members, smells, barking, mud, slobber, and ducks quacking at any time. We welcome children over 7; please make sure they are staying aware of the potential hazards of being on a farm, such as fire ants, insects, and reptiles. Our dogs love affection but need gentle handling from young ones. We now have Starlink WiFi!! Our guesthouse strives to be as environmentally friendly as possible. Did you know that Americans waste approximately 2.3 BILLION gallons of fresh clean water a DAY just flushing toilets? Persimmon Hill has a Separett brand composting toilet system. While it may be an adjustment, we’ve provided clear instructions and everything you need to have a comfortable experience. All running water is collected using a rainwater catchment system, and all drains use gray water waste systems to recycle water back into the environment. We ask that you use only the soaps, shampoos and conditioners provided as they are compatible with being recycled. The pool is closed November 1st-May 1st
