Sunrise Cottage w/ Heated Pool (Nov. 1)

Take a step back in time for a refreshingly sophisticated island holiday at the Ledgelets Cottage Collective. The serene atmosphere instantly lulls you into a soothing, restful state of relaxation. Wake to the chirping birds, and fall asleep to the choral tree frogs. The refurbished cottage interiors and pool terrace have been created with a modern vintage, boho-luxe vibe. To us, nostalgia is a very cool thing. Welcome, Sunrise Cottage awaits. The space Sunrise Cottage is one of three cottages in the Ledgelets Cottage Collective. This is a newly remodeled and renovated two story cottage and is the ideal setting for hosting a group of friends, family vacation, or couples get away. This three bedroom cottage has three patios that are perfect for enjoying your morning coffee, or your evening cocktails, while the lush and well-cultivated subtropical gardens surround you. We encourage you to soak in the reality that you may have just found your own personal paradise. The main floor of the cottage features one large master bedroom with a king bed and en-suite bathroom and shower. Also on this level is a spacious and comfortable living room with cable TV and Bluetooth speakers. We have opened up the space between the dining room and the completely remodeled kitchen to create better flow and more room to entertain. The kitchen is fully equipped with all new appliances. A spiral stairway takes you to the lower level of the cottage where you will find the second master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and shower/tub. This bedroom also has it's own private entrance to the lower patio. We have created a secondary common space geared to entertainment and games. This "Games Room" features a 50" Television for movies, several board games and plenty of space to relax. The third bedroom, our "Kids Room for Adults" is equipped with two twin beds, and it's own private updated bathroom and shower. Expect all the comforts of home to afford you the opportunity to actually unpack and unwind in a civilized manner. Comfort starts in the bedroom with brand new Tommy Bahama memory foam, pillow top mattresses. You can have even more comfort with 600 thread count linens. The cottage has available a washer and dryer (with detergent and fabric softener). You will also find a grill with utensils on the upper patio, perfect for having the family together for a little afternoon BBQ! We also realize that there may be times you require an item that is not found in the cottage. Let us know and we will be happy to get it for you! While we expect you to explore our beautiful island, it is nice to sometimes kick back and watch a little telly, mellow out to your favorite tunes or just catch up on social media...all possible with cable TV, blue tooth speakers and wireless internet. The wireless signal will reach all areas of the cottage and around the pool. We have beach and pool towels available along with beach chairs, umbrellas and snorkel gear. All bathrooms are outfitted with comfy robes, soft bath towels and logo pool/beach towels. You will also find a fresh supply of shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, soap, lotion and sun tan lotion...please use it, the strength of the sun can sneak up on you. Lastly, the pool area is shared with other cottage colony guests, as well as The Young Family. We hope you will love relaxing around the pool as much as we do. And remember, the pool is now heated from November 1 to April 1. Guest access The Ledgelets is a 4.5 acre estate that has four residential cottages , a full maintenance facility, on site property caretaker, and the main house where the hosts live. Sunrise Cottage is relatively private and offers two entrances from the parking lot. While not secluded from the rest of the property, you will find the cottage surrounded by lush subtropical gardens. As there are four residential cottages, there are also tenants on property. It is unlikely that you will have any interaction with them, but if you do, say hello. They are all great people, quite friendly and welcoming. Across the street from the entrance to The Ledgelets is our private dock. Our cousins use the dock with two fishing boats docked there. Captain Alan Card of the Challenger is one of Bermuda best-known captains and is available for charters. If you are into deep sea fishing, these are the guys to go with. Captain Andrew Card (Alan's brother) has been commercial fishing all of his life and can be found on the dock selling fish most afternoons. If you're in the mood for fish tales and some fresh local catch, Andrew would be happy to provide some for a small donation (the fish tales are free!). Other things to note Shortly after you make your reservation, Alison or I will contact you to discuss any wants or needs you may have. You may want to consider some of the following: Arrival/Departure - It will be quite helpful to have your flight information so that we can better prepare for your stay. Sunrise Cottage will be available from 3pm on the day of your arrival. If we can accommodate an earlier check-in time we will make every effort to do so. Taxi's are available at the airport, or we can organize a driver for you in advance. On the day of your departure, you will require at least one hour driving time to get to the airport and you should be at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight. Again, we would be happy to assist with transportation. We kindly ask that Sunrise Cottage be made available by 11:00am so that we can begin to clean and prepare the cottage for our next arriving guests. Should you require more time in the cottage prior to your departure, please let us know at the time of your reservation. Grocery Shopping - As you have a kitchen and grill for cooking, you may decide to dine al fresco one evening, perhaps even around the pool. As such, it is recommended to stop at the grocery store on the way from the airport and stock up on supplies. Most taxi drivers do not mind. Condiments and dry goods - We will provide and stock items like salt and pepper, olive oil, herbs and spices, paper towels, kleenex and other paper goods. For your convenience, we have provided dish detergent and soap in the kitchen. Phone - We have provided a phone in the cottage for local calls only. Keys - Keys will be made available upon arrival. Extra sets can be provided for flexibility and convenience. When leaving the property, please make sure you lock all doors. If keys are lost, please let us know immediately. In an effort to ensure the safety of our guests, our policy is to replace all locks should a key be lost. The cost is $250. Heat and AC - each room features dual systems throughout the cottage. It can be quite hot in the summer and we encourage you to be as comfortable as possible. However, as electricity is very expensive on the island we ask that you only run the AC when you are in the cottage. There is generally a nice breeze . While it is unlikely you will require heat...there may be a cold night here and there during the winter months Security - While crime is a part of life in many areas of the world, we can do our part to try and reduce to opportunity. There are three cameras on property Many of the property lights are on until timers and operate between sundown and 12:00am. We also have sensor lighting in the main parking lot. If you rent a scooter or Twizy, we strongly recommend you lock it everywhere you go. Your cottage also has an in-room safe. We encourage you to put all of your valuables in the safe when you are not in the cottage. Area Attractions - there are a number of great activities in the area and encourage you to explore the island as much as possible. We are five minutes from the Port Royal Golf Course, which hosted the PGA Grand Slam of Golf for four years. Dockyard, home to the 35th America's Cup, is a bustling community of its own with restaurants, museums, shopping mall and fine artisan crafts. We are also very close to Blue Water Divers and Somerset Bridge Watersports. There are also a number of great restaurants, bars and clubs in the city of Hamilton. And further to the east, St. Georges offers a memorable step back into the early days of the islands history. With a replica of the Deliverance in the background, St. Georges puts on a "re-enactment" of how life was then with the Stocks and Ducking Stool. We would be happy to make additional suggestions. Please check out our website for more uniquely Bermudian experiences. Railway Trail - we are also situated right on the old Bermuda Railway Trail, aka the "Rail Trail". Once upon a time, trains connected the entire island. Now the trail is a little less traveled and a great place for to go for a run or just meander and take some pictures - the scenery is breathtaking. Trash collection - Pick up is on Mondays and Thursdays. We have provided garbage bags and a garbage bin outside in the back of your cottage. Please put your trash in there and make sure the lid is on. The ants can be relentless! Speaking of Ants, and other pests - we are a sub tropical island and with that comes a variety of insects! We make every effort to reduce their impact on your enjoyment by having regular pest control services. However, we ask that you do your part and help us by wiping down all surfaces, especially in the kitchen (we have provided cleaning supplies). Do not leave any food on the counters or dirty dishes in the sink. If you do become inundated, we have provided some spray under the kitchen sink. Use it sparingly, as it is powerful. We do at times have mosquitoes and "no-see-ums"...they can be very annoying. We have provided some citronella candles for you...ah, the price of paradise!
