Description

Experience the enchanting 450-acre Gwarmacwydd estate by the River Taf, where unforgettable memories await. At The Coach House, enjoy exclusive access to 50 acres of magical woodlands, serene riverbanks, and scenic trails perfect for exploration. Embrace farm life by collecting fresh eggs and bottle-feeding lambs. Relish every moment in this idyllic countryside retreat that you can truly experience and cherish. The space Gwarmacwydd is a very special place. Comfortable cottages. An idyllic location. Hundreds of acres for you to enjoy, and centrally located, if you wish to explore the coast and Pembrokeshire National Park. Our organic beef and sheep farm is self-sufficient, and sustainable, growing our own grass, peas and oats for animal feed. The Soil Association tell us that Organic farms have on average, 50% more plant, insect and bird life. Farm walks in the fields and within 40 acres of woodland will give you a good chance to spot your wild neighbours, and understand more about healthy farming practices. Visitors are free to wander where they will, including going down to the two miles of riverbank, for a spot of fly fishing, with sewin, salmon and trout for the catching, or just to take a leisurely walk. Once you’ve had your fill of serenity, you can even learn to drive a great big John Deere tractor. The hour-long one-to-one sessions get you quickly behind the wheel and learning. You could also book a farm safari tour with the farmer in his Landrover or farm buggy as he checks his stock and answers all of your questions about sustainable organic farming. You can book a farm safari or tractor diving experience. Children just enjoy the freedom to explore. They will drag you along to stay safe when in the woods and fields and whilst they discover the river. They may even let you indulge in tea and cakes at one of our many picnic tables while they enjoy their play area, with football goal posts, several swings, slide, play fort, & trampoline. The Old Coach house was the Georgian equivalent of a modern integral garage where the Reverend Richard Bowne Jones who build Gwarmacwydd kept his horse drawn buggy to attend to his flock. There was also a bakery attached. Some of these features still survive. French doors now occupy the space of the old arched entrance. The fireplace installed to keep his buggy dry, now has a wood burning stove to keep you warm. In the dining area you can sit inside the old bread oven within the 3ft thick stone wall. In the upstairs bedroom there is a 2ft porthole that we believe was originally installed to allow air to circulate. Now a round glazed window. The master bedroom main window looks out over the grounds and garden of Gwarmacwydd down towards the river Taf. This room has a baby cot annex. The second bedroom has two bunk beds that can accommodate either 2 adults and two children/tanagers, or 4 children. The bathroom with a bath and separate shower is downstairs. The downstairs open plan Lounge, dining room and kitchen area has a triple aspect looking out towards; the courtyard, the patio garden area that leads to the children's play area, and the main lawns and grounds of Gwarmacwydd that lead down to the river Taf. A unique and fascinating cottage. Guest access Self-contained cottage. Free parking and access to Gwarmacwydd gardens grounds and estate of over 450 acres. Gwarmacwydd is an easy drive. We are only 5 miles from the main A40 trunk road, and 12 miles from a dual carriageway and the M4, yet as we are half a mile from the village road, it is a quiet and truly peaceful place to get away. Other things to note The Coach House has a wood burning stove, kindle and logs are always available for an extra charge The Coach House and Butlers can be connected together, there is a fire door/acoustic barrier between. Together they can sleep up to 4 Adults and 5 Children (+Cots). Ideal for an extended family holiday. Grandparents, share time together and then when you choose relax secluded in your own space.
