York isn't very far away, you can either drive or park up and take advantage of the hourly train service from Malton. A perfect day trip is to be had on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, which can coupled with some time in the market town of Pickering. To the east there is the beautiful Yorkshire Coast with the seaside towns of Bridlington, Scarborough and Whitby all close at hand – all offer something to do throughout the year.
