North Base House: Quality Holiday Accommodation

Welcome to North Base, Paihia. Spacious accommodation designed specifically with holiday groups in mind and ideally situated to explore NZ's North. Sunny, sheltered, northwest facing with privacy and views over town and on to the bay. Two minutes' walk across the park to town, with the beach just beyond. Easy to find in the heart of Paihia, North Base accommodates large families on holiday and groups of friends visiting for an event or time away together. Four bedrooms. One double bedroom with super king double plus ensuite, A twin king single room with ensuite, a queen bed room with the ensuite that includes a bath. There is a bunk room with four full single beds in bunk formation. Guests in this room use the communal toilet and shared shower and sometimes the outdoor shower thats plumbed to the hot water. Each room has USB plugs and each of the bunk beds has its own light, power and USB plug. All doubles have ensuite and a 4th bathroom services the bunk room and general daytime usage. Amenities include indoor/outdoor dining and full laundry. parking for up to 4 cars. The living spaces are spacious and on opposite sides of the property and fully soundproofed from the apartment below. We are pet friendly under strict conditions. You must bring pet bedding and dogs are not allowed on the beds or furniture. You must not leave your dog locked up inside unattended at any time. There are pet friendly restaurants and if you intend to go on day excursions then maybe bringing your dog is not such a good idea. A special cleaning fee of $250 will apply to dogs left inside unattended. A $250 fee will also apply if you dog disgraces themselves inside. If your dog has a genuine accident and you inform us then no special clean will apply. Its important that we know so we can address it properly. A separate apartment + cabin on the property can be combined for larger groups subject to availability. Your host Robert lives next door and is on hand to ensure a warm welcome and an open door on arrival. Other than that, you'll hardly know you have neighbours. The centre of town with shops and restaurants is just a short stroll, as is the beach. The nightclub region of Paihia along Kings Rd is located in the adjacent valley, still an easy stroll but you leave the noise behind as you return home. We will meet and greet in and out but otherwise we are only there if you need us. The door is left unlocked for when you arrive. North Base is located close to the main shopping centre of Paihia, the tourist hub of Northland. Situated facing north in a series of valleys, the historic town has its own micro climate. That makes it ideal for visiting in the winter, when you will find it noticeably warmer than nearby towns. Paihia beach and lively Kings Rd bars are an easy walk but far enough away to not cause any disturbance. The setting looks out to the park and town, with a glimpse of the Bay of Islands beyond. North Base is an easy walk to the beach through the village green park, past the historic Williams House house now used as the public library. Generally, guests walk to town, ferry and bus station, which is located around the wharf. Samsung TV with internet for you to stream your favourite shows. The water we drink is pure rainwater stored in a tank and run through a carbon filter to the kitchen. The rest of the house is connected to town supply water, so you can choose which water to use to fill the fridge drinking reservoir. Parking is in the carpark and drive which can have up to three cars stacked. There is parking at the school directly across the road during weekends and school holidays. There is not dedicated boat parking onsite but you can get a trailer up the drive. We are responsive to any requests to ensure the house meets all your expectations. .
