Hiking Retreat near Firey Gizzard and the Caverns

Whether you're looking for a restful night before exploring the South Cumberland, a place to crash after a concert at The Caverns, or a getaway to reconnect with the family, we can't wait to welcome you! In a small duplex on a rural road just 2 miles from downtown Monteagle, you are centrally located to some of the best hiking and waterfall searching in Tennessee! The space After arrival, sit for a few minutes on the front porch and enjoy the tree canopy. Using your private entrance (marked "A") type your 4-digit entry code onto the keypad followed by the unlock button (located under the keyhole and labeled "ultraloq"). Open the door to a bright and open main living space with comfortable seating, games, a smart T.V., dining/game table, and full kitchen. A washer and dryer are located in the utility closet in the kitchen/dining area. Exit out the back kitchen door to a deck and spend some time savoring the wooded landscape. Next, check out the bedrooms and decide who sleeps where. The primary bedroom boasts a comfortable queen bed, room-darkening curtains, an alarm clock with a phone charging station, reading corner, smart T.V., and a large closet. The secondary bedroom houses a bunkbed, desk area, crayons and coloring books, picture books, nightlight/sound machine, large closet, and a window that looks out onto the fire ring. Guest access As a guest, you will have access to the entire Side A unit, which includes an open living room, kitchen and dining area, as well as 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, the front porch, back deck, yard, and private fire ring. Other things to note The Side B unit is my own family's personal retreat space. We are here monthly to escape the city and enjoy the great outdoors. Our personal favorites are The Mountain Goat Market for eating and coffee, Mooney's for organic grocery items and eclectic/artisan gifts, The Dutch Maid Bakery in Tracy City for baked goods, Rosie's Farmhouse Kitchen for a big, country, breakfast, the Mountain Goat Trail between Monteagle and Sewanee for biking, the hike to Foster Falls, Sycamore Falls, and the Grundy Day Loop (part of the Fiery Gizzard).
