Description
A Beautiful Greek Revival home with wide wrap around porches set on 3 acres of hillside and poised for sunset views over the Medomak River and valley or star filled evenings. It's a 5 minute walk to the heart of the village with its tidal town dock (bring your kayak/canoe), beautiful parks, sweet bakery/café, 1936 era Waldo Theater, the village pub, Odd Alewives beer & pizza, & a barn wine bar. Near Camden, Rockport, Damariscotta, Belfast & many other sweet towns. 🏳️🌈All are welcome. The space An 1854 greek revival house with many large windows and grand porches with vintage eclectic decor. A beautiful home that has some old-house quirks and rustic nuances, not a completely renovated and sterile renovated space. This house is my primary home (with my pup and cat) in the Fall, Winter, and Spring, but in the Summer I offer the whole house to one guest group and I stay (bringing pets with me) in an apartment in the attached barn over my work studio. I am a metal craftsman, and can offer studio tours or instruction upon request. I offer a 10% discount off my handmade wares to guests and their friends & family, purchased at the house or at her website. I can offer a ride on my small skiff down the tidal river (across the street) 2-3 people a time, as I'm a licensed captain. 2-4 hour rides are available and I can price upon request. Some sampling of reviews from a listing I've hosted with for 7 years, under the other competitive seasonal rental company that starts with V (avg 4.8-5 stars!): -"Erica's house was comfortable and spacious with plenty of amenities and privacy (bathrooms and bedrooms) for a group. We enjoyed spending time in this eclectic antique-filled environment We especially appreciated the large well-equipped kitchen." -E from Ontario -"Huge, rambling old sea captain’s home in a great location to explore the beautiful towns along the coast of Maine. We arrived after dark and Erica had the lights on and lovely flowers on the tables. Warm and welcoming." Clara - "If you like antiques and old houses, this is the place for you! We enjoyed the furnishings in this rambling old house. Erica (host) gave us a tour of her metal shop; she's quite the maker. Close to many quaint towns and Maine's mid-coast peninsulas." -Bruce Guest access There is a large driveway to park in that is shared with me. You are able to access the whole house interior (it is all private to you) and exterior. Erica's barn / studio are off limits unless you pre arranged a studio visit or a day to work with her. Erica's lives upstairs from her studio and sometimes water the plants but she is very respectful of your personal space! Other things to note Note on accessibility: All 5 bedrooms are on the second floor. There is one small half-bath (toilet only) on the first floor. There is one larger step from the yard walkway to the porch where you enter the house. There is no AC, but room fans and screened windows. If you are not used to this old fashioned way of keeping cool, it may not be the right place for you and guests. Let me know if you have any other questions regarding accessibility.
