If you might want to go shopping, one of the oldest pedestrian zones in Germany in Oldenburg is ideal. You can easily reach the city of Oldenburg on quiet paths by bike, but also by bus or train. We would also like to recommend the nice and good cafes and restaurants in Sandkrug and its surroundings. If you feel like exploring the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site, you can reach the North Sea in about 40 minutes by car, and the train runs in about 1 hour from Sandkrug directly to Wilhelmshaven to the North Sea. But if you want to relax in Haus Birkenheim, a large covered terrace offers the opportunity to relax there in any weather. A large garden in the south/west location invites you to sunbathe, it is welcome to be used. If you want to grill in the evening, there is the possibility to enjoy the sunset at the front of the cottage at the same time. In the living room there is a fireplace (the firewood is provided) that floods the entire living space with cozy heat.
