The Blue Salamander

I built and lived in La Salamandre Bleue for 22years. It is 4 ruins knocked together, rebuilt and furnished with a mix of existing furniture, old and modern, french and english The space Chantemerle les Grignan is a small, sleepy, medieval village, only 4km from Grignan. The village is surrounded by lavender fields, vineyards and woods and during the heat of the afternoon sun the only sound to be heard are the cicadas and the gentle flow of the fountain to accompany the afternoon siesta. i All year round the colours of nature change, the hills become white as the almond trees blossom, the fields turn red with poppies, then yellow as the broom comes into flower and finally there is an overwhelming fragrance of lavender as the fields turn purple. As summer draws to an end and the grape picking begins, the smell of truffles come from our plates, the vibrant colours of autumn take over. The year is rounded off with a fine sprinkling of snow. You can relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the region, the sun and the blue skies and finally as the sun goes down the village comes alive, the children come together to play in the village square while the parents sip the local wines or pastis and play pétanque, cards or just enjoy watching time go by. There are five bedrooms and three (URL HIDDEN) are three bedrooms with beds 160 and 1 with bed 140.The fifth bedroom has 4 single beds and lots of toys and books. Guest access Chantemerle is an exceptional village full of life.It is just 4km from the château de Grignan. There is a golf 4km sports centers, plenty of trails for walking or cycling and there are many different festivals nearby Avignon, Alba, Vaison
