A live-in caretaker is located 100 yards away for support. Other things to note Bat Cave, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, North Carolina United States Secluded yet close to neighbors! This is a small mountain top community of personal homes and second homes. There are other cabins on the property and in the vicinity so you can have seclusion and comfort knowing that in an emergency there are others people about. Houses are all adequately spaced out so you feel the solitude and privacy you need. The house is at an elevation of 3,200 ft. Be ready for curvy, sometimes steep, well maintained roads. No public transport is near. Though there is an uber driver who services surrounding areas. We recommend that you consider getting groceries and other supplies prior to arrival. You will pass several grocery stores and gas stations on your way to the cabin. Ingles is our local chain and a good choice. There are also a multitude of restaurants with diverse menus in the towns listed below. Our WiFi is supplied by US Cellular and is a cell tower based system. It has, over the years, proven to be adequate for communicating, streaming and working from the cabins. It will be slower than cable, fiber optic or what you are use to at home.
