Description

Ever heard of Seven Dials? Nestled between Covent Garden and Soho, Leicester Square and Shaftesbury Avenue, in the very heart of London's famous West End. Read my reviews (100+ 5* in the past year, also Guest Favourite and Superhost) - they all love the incredible location. Many listings claim they're central. You've found one that actually is! And here's your chance to experience the best of London life, in this cosy room in my recently-renovated apartment, right in the very centre of it all. The space The perfect location for exploring London by foot, and as central to London's tourist, shopping and nightlife hotspots as you can get. Read my reviews - nearly everyone talks about the location. Guests often tell me I've undersold it, and despite what I've written here they still can't believe the location when they arrive. Absolutely ideal for tourists - all of the following are within a ten minute walk: British Museum, National Gallery, Covent Garden Piazza, Soho, Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, the River Thames, Oxford Street, Regent Street, Carnaby Street, Shaftesbury Avenue, and all the major West End theatres. This is Seven Dials, a cute and quirky neighbourhood in north west Covent Garden, just a minute's walk from Soho, with a village feel centred on a sundial monument with seven streets radiating out from it. These seven streets are famously brimming with boutique shops and cafés, and since regular chain stores aren't permitted within a block of the sundial, it makes the area completely unique. It's bustling with life during the day, but surprisingly quiet at night - all the nearby pubs close at 11pm and the late-night clubs and bars, whilst close enough for you to easily walk home, are far enough away that there's usually little noise after midnight. Sometimes, in the dead of night, you can even hear Big Ben chiming, over a mile away. It's also very safe, both day and night. And that's just the area - let's talk about your room... Welcome to my apartment. This room is perfect for one, and cosy for two, at 94 square feet / 8.7 square metres. The apartment was recently fully renovated, and this room was rebuilt from the ground up with everything in it brand new - except for the handmade bed by famous British bedmaker Warren Evans which guests always loved, so I upgraded it with the award-winning Emma mattress. It's a 'small double' bed (4" x 6"3, 120cm x 187cm) so if there's two of you then you'll be cuddled up together. Opposite the bed is a huge mirrored double wardrobe, exclusively for your use. The room features a floor-to-ceiling patio door that opens onto a Juliet balcony, which overlooks the alleyway. A large desk and chair to work from, plus another big comfy armchair, and a floor-to-ceiling designer radiator behind the door. Egyptian cotton bedding and towels from the renowned British department store John Lewis, including four big pillows. Your room has a glass-fronted drinks fridge, with a couple of complimentary welcome drinks in it. A kettle with organic Fairtrade-certified tea and coffee. A fan if you need it, ditto a heater. And of course, free and unlimited high-speed wireless internet for all of your mobile phones, laptops and tablet devices. The room has eight power sockets (I provide converters to fit UK plugs), plus five USB-A sockets and a USB-C socket powerful enough to charge laptops and tablets as well as phones. The highlight of my apartment renovation is the designer bathroom, with fittings by Kohler, Hansgrohe, Catalano, Geberit and Bisque, and tiles imported from Italy. Large two-person mosaic tiled shower enclosure with drenching rainhead and separate hand shower, with toiletries free for your use. The bathroom is shared, but shared only with me. I tried to design the bathroom to be comparable to some of the best boutique hotels I've stayed in, and I'd love you to come visit and judge for yourself. Please read the house rules - they are displayed just before you confirm your booking. If you're not using instant book, then if you quote the keyword phrase in the house rules, I will automatically accept you :-) Guest access This is my home, but your room is private, since you don't have to pass through my lounge or bedroom to get there. In general you won't have access to elsewhere in the apartment, so no kitchen or lounge access, but you'll have your own keys and can come and go as you please. When your booking is confirmed, I will send you a comprehensive welcome guide, including detailed arrival instructions by public transport from all London airports and Eurostar. I also offer a much larger room in the same apartment with its own private ensuite bathroom. It's usually more expensive, but if you feel you need the extra space and the private bathroom then please take a look. To see it, click through my profile picture, or if you can't find it then just send me a message and I'll send you the link. Other things to note I'm a vegetarian and I request that you don't bring meat or fish products into the apartment; furthermore, fur is expressly forbidden, so you cannot bring fur into the apartment. There are dozens of cafés nearby catering to all palates and budgets. It's thanks to Airbnbers like you that I was able to afford an amazing new boiler with heating on-demand so the hot water never runs out. It's situated inside a cupboard in this bedroom, since gas boilers these days must be directly connected to an external vent. It's about as modern and quiet as it's possible for a boiler to be, but you will hear it clicking into life sometimes. I'm gay, but very straight-friendly :-) I'm a nice guy and I'm happy to help you in any way I can to make your stay more enjoyable. I've lived in central London most of my adult life and I'm happy to advise on things to see and do. I've created a whirlwind two-hour circular walking tour covering many of the major sights that I can send you on (or perhaps even join you on) - first-time visitors to London usually love it. And it certainly doesn't take much to persuade me to join you in the pub!
