Idyllic & charming rural farm with private rooms
Description
Come and stay in rural Gloucestershire on an equestrian property. Home to Italian Olympic event rider and a yard of competition horses, the farm is a stunning and comfortable, yet rustic place to base yourself from to explore Gloucestershire and Herefordshire. The property is based on a working farm so don’t expect soho farmhouse, but the views are second to none and the charm of this little farm has many visitors coming back again and again. King size rooms with access to the rest of the house. The space The king sized comfortable bedrooms are situated in a lovely characterful single storey cottage, which has had influence from both Italy and the Isle of Mull. The farm is in an extremely quiet location where you will only hear sounds of horses, there is no traffic and tranquil silence in the evenings. The house has a blissful terrace to eat or relax on which looks out over incredible views of horses grazing in rolling fields which back on to Pauntley Church from where Dick Whittington set off to London. The Malvern Hills, Bredon Hill and the top of Tewkesbury Abbey can also be spotted in the distance in the far reaching views of hills and fields. A well equipped kitchen with an Aga, a cosy living room with a double sided log burner, as well as the two bathrooms, are shared with possible other guests and myself. Not forgetting Pickle the cat, and Teddy the friendly dog who are also residents of the house! The bedrooms have extremely comfortable beds and are well equipped with storage space, a hairdryer, towels, blankets and basic supplies. Breakfast will be left ready either on the kitchen table or out on the decking. Dinner with traditional Italian cooking can on occasion be arranged in the kitchen or in the dining room. The main bathroom has a shower and bath as well as heated towel rail for cold seasons. I can offer a rustic but very comfortable stay. The house and rooms will be clean but remember we have animals around and a business based on outdoor activities on a working equestrian yard adjacent! Guest access There is plenty parking space on the farm in a parking area. Guests are welcome to visit the horses on the yard of 25 stables or watch me ride them in the jump arena by prior arrangement. There are fields with breathtaking views to walk round that lead on to footpaths to the church or to the orchards. Guests are also welcome to relax in the garden or on the decking. There is a large vegetable garden where most of my supplies are grown and I am happy to give guests a tour! During your stay Being a working equestrian farm there are a few members of staff on the yard so there is normally always someone to welcome guests or assist with any needs, however there is always activity in the daytime as we will all be busy working and there may be some people coming and going. I am generally always around in the evenings unless I am away competing. Other things to note It is possible to bring your horse to stay as well by booking stables separately with me! There is fantastic hacking locally through orchards and pastureland or on bridlepaths. Lessons in any discipline can also be arranged with me! There is a 25x60 all weather arena with a great selection of jumps. Visit my website for more details.
