Visit the Kentucky Derby Museum, Mammoth Cave, Lincoln’s Birthplace and more with a short drive! The space This recently remodeled and updated home provides space for indoor and outdoor activities. Many features of the 1940s home were preserved such as the Bedford stone fireplace and original hardwood floors on the second floor. This home provides ample space to spread out. There are sitting areas and TVs in the living room, kitchen, and sunroom. Prefer to be outside? The deck and the patio have seating for six and eight, respectively. Take advantage of the fire pit on the patio and enjoy cozy conversations into the night as you soak in your time at the farm. When it's time to prepare your meals, the chef won't feel lonely. The kitchen has a keeping room and a large island so friends and family can be close while the kitchen duties are in progress. If you prefer to have your meals grilled, fire up the gas grill which is large enough to cook burgers for twelve! The large dining table seats eight, the kitchen island provides additional seating for four and a game table in the sunroom seats four. Indoor fun for the younger ones is covered with toys and books including wooden automobiles, a marble run, and Hotwheels. Fun for all is waiting in our diverse library of board games. Having fun outdoors is only limited by your imagination. The front yard and the flower garden area next to the garage provide plenty of space for throwing a football, playing freeze tag, or using the provided equipment (wiffle bat/ball, CanJam) to challenge your friends to an impromptu game of wiffle ball or simply enjoying country life. With five bedrooms (queen, queen, queen, full, pair of twins) everyone will have a comfy place to lie down in the evening. There is also a "camper" twin mattress available that can be placed on the floor in case a young child would prefer to sleep in a room with their parents. A pack-n-play is available upon request. Every guest will be provided a towel and washcloth. The farmhouse has two full bathrooms (one on each floor). The first-floor bathroom has a bathtub and shower combo. The second-floor bathroom has a stand-up shower. A washer and dryer are located in the basement in case you need to do a quick load of laundry. Laundry detergent and dryer balls are provided. The farmhouse has a one-car garage with an automatic door. The garage door can be operated by entering the home through the pedestrian door of the garage and pressing the button mounted on the wall or by entering a code in the keypad located beside the garage door. High-speed internet is provided. Guest access You will have access to the entire home except for the area in the basement that holds the HVAC and storage area. This area will be roped off. Regarding the outside areas: you will have access to the yard which includes the area across the driveway which is adjacent to the field. This area is bordered by six maple trees and large limestone rocks which were once used as part of the foundation of a home on the property which has recently been demolished. Tractors and trucks use the farm roads to move equipment, grain, and animals. You are not permitted to enter any of the farm buildings or walk around the farm unless accompanied by a host or a tour guide assigned by a host. If you are interested in a farm tour please contact the host, and she will see if a tour guide will be available during your stay. Other things to note The Farmhouse is conveniently located 45 minutes from Louisville and 30 minutes from Elizabethtown. Kroger Instacart will deliver to this home. Place your bagged trash in the dumpster located behind the small white block structure behind the Farmhouse. It is also used by the farm. Please shut the lid after depositing your trash.
