Cottage on Lake Ontario

Welcome to our cottage on Lake Ontario. Beautiful view of Lake Ontario from nearly every room in the house. The water is within steps of the back deck. The views are breathtaking. You will hear the sounds of the waves hitting the shore and it will feel like you are on the ocean. Located close to historical Sackets Habor and within 20 minutes of the St. Lawrence River. The location is quiet. The space The entire cottage has been recently renovated. The rooms are bright and clean. We have added a nautical theme throughout the rooms. Included with this rental is access to a private 73 feet boat launch and 50 foot dock located 4 miles from cottage. Parking of boat trailer is available at the boat launch too. Because we have had renters that do not like bugs including mosquitos and black flies and spiders, you need to be aware that bugs and spiders will be at the cottage despite having professional bug spraying and our own cleaning. Guest access The entire cottage and the footprint of the building will be yours during the stay. You will have direct access to the water. When you are sitting on the back porch you will feel as though you are alone with water views as far as the eye can see. Two kayaks and adult life jackets are available to use. If you have a child bring life jacket for them. We recommend bringing water shoes. It will make walking in water easier and protect your feet from anything that is in the water. Visibly rocks and crushed shells are seen. Other things to note Please discuss any needs at booking and we will do everything we can to accommodate you. If you have a child that needs a highchair or pack-n-play we will make it available for you. If you need a desk and chair for a remote work area, we will make it available to you. These are not available in the cottage at all times due to storage space but we have them at our main house. Please keep in mind that this is a seasonal cottage located in northern New York. It can be chilly. We provide extra blankets. There is a propane fireplace in the living room and an electric heater in the bathroom but there is no heat source that spans the entire cottage which typically is fine. This year (2025) has been unseasonably cool so bring some warmer clothes and we will provide additional blankets. Please keep in mind that there will be outside insects like black flies, midgies, mosquitos, and spiders. They do get inside at times. We do hire to have the place sprayed each year which has been done but it doesn't stop them completely. You will likely see spiders in the house. If you are not a fan of bugs and spiders, you may not like this location. When you are here, the more you can keep outside lights off, the less you will get the insects. The air conditioner does attract bugs and you will find some bugs around the A/C despite our cleaning. You should bring your own bug spray. There is a window air conditioner unit in the livingroom that keeps the living space comfortable. The windows in the bedrooms are too small of a unit. There are fans available to use. One bedroom is on the water side which gets a nice breeze at night. The other bedroom is on the road side and can get stuffy when the days are hot.
